Nope, that was the first thing I did. In fact, the tailcap is the newest part of this light, replaced by Zebra a while ago. All the solder connections in there look beautiful. -

I'd also second the clipped flood light and a thrower in hand. A zebra light works really well for that due to how tiny they are. There are a variety of places I can then clip it. -
New Zebralight H31
I actually really like the rubber clip on the H30, as a headlamp normally does not need a clip. But it's great when I want something like a sternum light on my bag. One downside however is that they can then be lost... Like mine. -

Yeah, the old rubber clip thingy that they had with the H30 was really useful, I hope they include one with the H31 as well. -
Problem with Zebra in the cold
Yucca, I was aware of that, and was thinking that he probably needed a different model. However, does anyone know if it would work if you used a CR123 and a proper spacer? Runtime would suffer, but then he can find out if cold cells are the problem. -

Have you tried primaries? IIRC, Rechargable cells have a higher minimum operating temperature range, bottom out as it hits the negative digits. Even before then, the cells performance won't be good enough to keep the driver from kicking out. Can the Princeton use li-ion cells, and does it still... -
