Brightest g4 bulb?
I'm not FM (and would not try to pretend to know anywhere near as much as him). I do have Hikari bulb in m*g with FM MOP reflector driven by 16 eneloops in FM holder. Hot spot is 1.5 to 2 x the size of mag85 in same reflector, but will out throw mag85, and puts out easily more lumens than 2...- jackolantern

It is larger than 1185. Had to enlarge opening of reflector a little for bulb to slide thru. It is smaller than a 5761 in diameter. Based on picture in post 156 of Lux's destructive bulb test thread, it looks very similar to Hikari bulb. Also made in China. Fortunately for me, the 4-5 I have all...- jackolantern

hello, I have a similar bulb (35w 12v G4) by Candex? that came via Fivemega. also cheap at 2 dollars and assume similar to Hikari which in one thread in past FM referred to charts by Lux for Hikari. Anyways, driven with 16 eneloops in bored 4d and FM bi-pin adapter instead of high temp KIU...- jackolantern

What is missing?
A mag switch / tower that can accommodate higher temps while retaining quick cam focusing ability possible? my brightest flashlight made mostly of your goodies is 16 eneloops driving 2 dollar 12v 35w bulb with G4 bipin adapter. extended continuous running causes melting of plastic tower, but I...- jackolantern
