    Now i am worried!

Pretty much this. The research was done before I spoke.;) Additionally, the links that were posted, pretty much had reinforced my point. I'm not looking to start an argument, but I think that the CPF community is simply too smart of a forum to fall for this EMP "off switch to the stone-age"...

    Now i am worried!

I'm pretty certain that the destructive effects of EMP on electronic components is vastly overstated. Mostly, this is due to worried preparedness types that would rather try to advise as experts, rather than truly understand the issue at hand. EMP resulting from an airburst nuclear detonation...

wind-up lights are no emergency ones ...

same applies to wind-up radios, as they are typically combined with a LED light that is the sole light and radio in many people's "emergency kit". My $10 Sony pocket radio worked for the entire blackout on it's original 4 year old battery while the cheap wind-ups were failing. Considering...

Corn Maze at Night, Mind Blown

How many knuckleheads were confident that their cellphone backlight was their "flashlight"?

    A bad sign for Freeplay

I trust a decent light with a CR123 more than I trust some wind-up cookcoo-clock budget light from overseas. CR123 has a shelf life of 10yrs. The super low and moon mode output features that have been recently popular benefit this attribute well.

Getting my friend a nice flashlight for his birthday...

I have given several G2, G2L, and most recently a G2X away as gifts when I have someone that I think high enough of should not be without a good light. Mostly friends and family. I give the CR123 lights away as I am giving them away so the owner has a slight edge of preparedness and a quality...

what is your WIFE'S edc light??

EarLy quark mini cr123 I'm sure you guys can relate, but there have been a few times where she was the only one in the crowd to have anything brighter than a cellphone for illumination when it went dark. I'm also thinking of sticking a G2L in her glovebox

    Glock Xenon Light

Glock isn't exactly known for adopting anything new. I say this as a completely satisfied Glock owner. I'd recommend looking at a SF X300 for a replacement. Much more functional, reliable, and brighter than the glock branded Incan.

Current flashlight's price VS. a few years ago.

:thumbsdow These companies are out to make money. They charge what the market will handle. The upside of being profitable, is that they have more money for R&D and re-investment to bring you more and better products down the road. While it is true that the early adopter largely finances the...

LED Light for an HK G36

We need more threads like this :twothumbs: I like Hk's and that conversion is great! I only have one Hk right now myself, a P7 PSP for CCW that I am really happy with. I thought about picking up one of the recently imported Turkish MP5's but decided that my next rifle would be something in...

    the Micron 30 (/w Glock 30)

Nice review. Thanks for bringing this light to my attention. I think that there is a ton of room for innovation in the pistolight market. I'm really surprised that some of the bigger flashlight brands do not design an offering in this market like Fenix. It has really only been Surefire...

Found a flashlight in my lawn mower...

I just checked my lawnmower. No surefires  Mr. Honda himself is going to hear about this!:p Yes, send this story to surefire. Maybe get a free light if they publish your story. Most of their stories read like the mall-ninja HSLD tactical operator version of Letters to Penthouse, so you...

Cave tour guides with LED flashlights.

Most people see an LED light that they are thinking of buying, look right into the LEDs, say to themselves "oh Sh!t thats bright!" and wonder around blinded for a few minutes confident in their selection. (keep in mind, I'll see spots for 10 minutes if I look directly into my E01). I have...

    Surefire: L1 or E1b ???

MSRP on the E1B is $139.99 Surefire pretty much sets their dealer advertised pricing. Auctions do not apply, as they are usually not official dealers nor are they advertised prices. Auction sites also usually are cheaper than that. I didn't even pay $139.99 for my LX2 on auction. More like...

    No love for Inova's??

I think you, like myself, will be buying any future Inovas from the BST forum. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/images/smilies/redface.gif I keep gifting out my X5's to unenlightened friends and family that I need to stock up on them. Think I'll try one of the blue X5s this time around...

whats a good red led light?

Who knows what Inovas are being made now that they have been sold. But the X5 in red would have been my first thought as well. They run off of 1 cell and are known to suck primaries dry for long long periods of time. They come up on BST occasionally and get snagged-up fast for top dollar...

    Light help/recomendation for Maritime student

That was my 1st thought as well, but it wont take rechargeables, at least to my knowledge. I'd just recommend stocking-up on primaries. The runtime on primaries is very good, as is the output. And getting a cheap 2xAA light for backup in any chances you might be caught without access to...

    Surefire 6PDL w/M61 or Surefire E2DL ?

You using this light outdoors or indoors? Any specific uses? Like inspecting machinery or something like that? I'd say that the E2DL is tough to beat for any outdoor use, or if you are indoors inspecting structural items that are not right in front of you. The low is low enough to get...

    Revised SUREFIRE staple models

A bit more output, runtime, and flood would really be nice. Not going to be a tint-nut or "ring" nut. Just wan't SF reliability in a package where I can get the floodiness that I lost when I upgraded my "house light" to the LX2.

    Revised SUREFIRE staple models

Excellent! I'm in the market for a new G2L anyways. If it comes with the same reflector on the Z2-S, I'll be VERY happy. Was going to just put a low flood malkoff on a current G2L, but I think I'll wait a bit to see what comes out.
