    I have an xp4 and can confirm early termination on my eneloops. I tried restarting charger by power cycling the charger and it terminates quickly as if the cell is fully charged.

    I bought a few for some lights using linear drivers. Mine dont have extra capacity, but the little bit of extra voltage helps when trying to draw more amps from the cell.

    Yes, slots 1 and 4 are the only ones that can do 1500ma (unless I misunderstand something). Sorry, not sure how old they are.

    Mr Happy, thanks for the research. I own one of these chargers and I can confirm the behavior you describe. If I had read your post before buying, then I wouldn't have. I use my charger to recharge either 1 or 2 eneloops. If I charge at a rate higher than 1A, then it terminates way too...

    Re: XTAR VP1 with LCD display (0.25A, 0.5A, 1A) I would like to know if the LCD backlight stays on while not charging... Can these be purchased already or did you get a review unit?

    lithium primaries, not lithium rechargeable. so bring good cr123 cells (not rcr123). I'm sure someone else will post more info... EDIT: BTW, this would be easy to test ahead of time... I recommend doing the test so there are no surprises.
