Flashlights in TV shows and movies (Part 3)

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2217469&postcount=128 I just listened to the director's commentary on TR 1 - lots of good nuts & bolts movie stuff in there - and he commented that they went through "thousands" of light sticks because of the short run time of the ultra-high...

Surefire - By Royal Appointment :)

Hmph! You think you got it bad. She sold me on "half of the entire planet of Mercury!" Man, I had a special hat made and everything before I found it's the half that always faces the sun. What a prankster. Bob

HID Flashlights - competition from LEDs?

Even if LED's catch up in lumens/watts, we still have to consider what kind of throw they can produce from a given diameter housing. HID's have an advantage here, since the light they produce originates from a very small point, vs. the large emission area of high power LED's. This translates...

airport folks opened my luggage with my M6...

TSA locks are required at all US airports if you want to lock your bag. The TSA security requirements don't vary from airport to airport (but it may be that you see one airport doing a better job advertising the rules than another). Those locks are relatively cheap and at least might...

Surefire A2 Add-on... Would you buy it? **UPDATE - Product Launch Announced!!**

Re: Surefire A2 Add-on... Would you buy it? **UPDATE - First PCBoards In-hand!** I'd vote for the locater flash. The strobe would be of secondary interest to me, but I wouldn't mind it. The locater mode setting needs to be "sticky" and not tied to the status of any mode - until explicitly...

Re: Surefire A2 Add-on... Would you buy it? **UPDATE - First PCBoards In-hand!** I'm interested! If you ever do custom versions, I'd be interested in red, two-level white and UV . UI could be each fast click just cycles around the "ring", i.e.: red, low-white, high-white, UV, red...etc...

Anyone had TSA confiscated your LED flashlight?

Re: Surefire U2 and airplane carry-on If it included a battery, that may have been the problem. There's been a lot of back-and-forth on lithium batteries in checked luggage. Interesting that your other packed lights were undisturbed. Just a guess, but did the package say "Lithium battery"...

Please help me ID an old LED keychain light

I did come across the keyring I think came with it today, so I'm guessing it's around here somewhere! Not a split ring as I said above, but a carabiner type thingee with a screw-collar "gate". (It was on another light :) ) Cheers, Bob

Please help me ID an old LED keychain light

I except for the titanium I think I remember having one of these. Does it have a little rod coming out that back end with a hole drilled through it for a split ring? And you rotated that rod 90 degrees to turn the light on/off (which caused the rod to drop into/out of the light body)? Front...

    The poor flashaholics top 10?

Ditto - the Ray O Vac has a nice reflector. I keep one in the office with 6xAA's because I know it won't walk away like a more expensive light would. - The Inova 2XAAA I got recently at Target is a very nice bargin. Works great and, unlike a lot of 2XAA or 2xAAA lights, does actually put out...
