    Recommendations for camping: two needed

Thanks for all the help. I bought two dozen of the county.com lights (along with a titanium crowbar, several more lights, blades, etc.) with the intention of giving them to the Scouts. My wife took them ALL to give to an early AM (6:10 AM M-F) Old Testament class she teaches to High School...

    Recommendations for camping: two needed

OK< I am a Scoutmaster with a new batch of Scouts whose Dads are rather new to camping. I have been asked to recommend "something good and bright for out in the woods, and a small LED light for in the tent." and probably a good online vendor. Now I am a Surefire guy with Princeton Tec as my main...

HELP, My PrincetonTec Surge just exploded; I'm hit

Re: HELP, My PrincetonTec Surge just exploded; I\'m The lens is an integral bit that screws on to the body over the o-ring. That is what I was calling a cap.... It happened as I began to unscrew that lens body.

HELP, My PrincetonTec Surge just exploded; I'm hit

Re: HELP, My PrincetonTec Surge just exploded; I\'m hit Built up H2 pressure and an explosion seem credible. The amount of force associated with this puppy exceeds what I would have anticipated from a rapid depressurization of an inert acting gas. Such a gas might cause the cap to pop off as...

HELP, My PrincetonTec Surge just exploded; I'm hit

Re: HELP, My PrincetonTec Surge just exploded; I\'m hit OK, I don't intend to sue anybody unless my hand doesn't feel a LOT better in the AM. But any ideas on what happened or who to contact (instead of the generic "email us" link?) I have never had a problem with the other products.

HELP, My PrincetonTec Surge just exploded; I'm hit

HELP, My PrincetonTec Surge just exploded; I\'m hit I imagined that might catch somebody's attention. OK, I love my little Surge. Loved is the better word. The lights dimmed to near zero and I concluded "Aha" the batteries are now defunct and it is time to put in eight new AAs. I unscrew the...

Power failure: The best light is:

I live in a small subdivision and was so thrilled when the power went out for four hours. Naturally, the x990 was there. But my solution was really quite elegant. A Honda 6500 generator that I could plug in and run about 1/3rd of the house on. I particualrly loved turning on all the lights in...

cpfer needs all to comment on this post *quickly*

No one will bother you at school (or my guess, going through airport security) with this: http://www.tadgear.com/Edged%20Tools/stealth_ti_technologies.htm and I imagine you could wear any flashlight of any size short of an M6 into the test. They don't search you!

Early observations on Target purchase: Vector Sport Shot 3mmcp vs x990 and SF m6

The Maxabeam itself with only 12v charger is less than 1000, but a battery, strap, case and recharger drive it up to 1350. No likelihood of volume discounts as they are selling them like pancakes to the military and border patrol and I am having to wait in line for mine. Situation on Gen III...

Early observations on Target purchase: Vector Sport Shot 3mmcp vs x990 and SF m6

The x990 is far easier to hold and the head rotates 90 degrees. There is almost no really comfortable way to hold the Vector -- while the x990 is a joy to hold in spite of its weight. . The vector has a squeeze trigger you must hold in. It gets a HOT light. The x990 has a switch. The Vector...

123 batteries for low price(if you want a lot)

I'd go for 100 of them if there are some folks who want to join in. Seems like a heck of a price and I am sure we can get it post ebay. Probably get him to mail it out to us in bits of he saves ebay fees....

Early observations on Target purchase: Vector Sport Shot 3mmcp vs x990 and SF m6

First, the Vector Sportshot is clunky, a little hard to hold, heavy. The beam is irregularly shaped whether on one or two bulbs with a wide area of erratic intensity. I am trying to say everything bad about it first, because it is a HUGE light for the price. It comes with wall and 12v...

"Zundmittel" and a German built box of curious description

That seems to be the case on further review. This box apparently contained detonation fuses, wires, etc. which could explain the precision of packing, the careful construction and so forth. It was empty and I thank you all for the help.

    really LOW prices on surefires!

Re: really LOW prices on surefires! Well, I checked out the other prices which all seemed "veru good" but far from incredible. A Surefire M6 for 245$ ?? Wow. They really do seem to have blowout prices, but will they botach us? I'd love to hear anyone's experience.
