    aaaaaaargh!

It's a great obsession. I've only been here a little over a month, and I am already 5 lights richer. Plus, you can share this hobby with others. My father lost power at his house the other night, and he called me later to tell me he had no flashlights and only a candle for light. Hmmm, guess...

    Why lights?

Hi Idunno445. I got into flashlights because I love batteries, and I needed something to put all of those batteries in. What I'm finding is that flashlights and batteries have a synergistic relationship--they build off of one another. The right type of battery can make a great flashlight even...

What is the brightest AA Flashlight?

As others have noted, the brightest AA light I have is the Jet I MKII with a 14500. It is amazing how much light comes out of this thing. Of course, it is no slouch with a standard AA or a NiMH rechargeable, either.

    Help me pick...narrowed it down...

Well, I have a Mini Mag (not and LED, though), and I like the Fenix L2T quite a bit better. It is smaller, feels better built to me, is substantially brighter, has a low and high option, is fully regulated, and to me has a much more pleasing beam. I do not think you would be disappointed with...

    Best $100 Flashlight?

Hi, and welcome to CPF. For your father, I suggest the JetBeam-I MKII with the standard signle AA tube. It is small (yet bigger than the P1 you mentioned) and has normal, low, high, and strobe modes. It is turned on and off with a tail clickie, and you can switch modes with a "soft touch" of...

    Help me pick...narrowed it down...

Hello TB383, Welcome to CPF. I do not have experience with the Inovas or the Streamlights, but I do own the Fenix L2T, and I really like it. It is fairly small (smaller than a MiniMag 2AA), bright, and feels very well built. I like that it has the low mode (which is actually plenty bright...

    Flashaholic progression

I'm a little nervous as to how this addiction progresses. I've been on the forums less than a month, and I've already acquired a: SF L7 Fenix LT2 JetBeam I MKII (on the way) Fenix P1D CE (pre-ordered) Not to mention the Extech 401036 light meter that should be delivered today, new batteries...

If you could go back in time to when you were an "Unenlightened" CPF'er....

Re: If you could go back in time to when you were an "Unenlightened" CPF'er.... All of these posts from you guys is a little scary. Just how many lights am I going to end up buying just to replace later and then say, "When I was Unelightened, I would have. . .?" I've only been here a week, and...

Why do we like lights so much?

I suppose we like lights so much mostly because it gives us a sense of control--I think a lot of people feel vulnerable when they can't see what is around them.

    Just Saying Hi

I found this site about a week ago doing a search for battery tests, and thought I would register and say hello. I figured there had to be other people out there with battery and flashlight obsessions, I just didn't guess that there was a site dedicated to us. By the way, my wife thanks...
