    Initially I was suggesting the Raw but if KK needs two hours runtime then the Raw is out. The older Orb 3W I read about here seems to use 2*123A which should give a more satisfying runtime. I'm going to butt out, as I know next to nothing. Cheers.

    Not got one yet but I'm trying to think of a reason not to. ........... ....... I'm trying hard and there's still no reason........ There is a 3W Raw which takes two 123As. This would have better runtime. For the 1W its 20h. For the 3W I'd guess 6h. Email Orb and ask. Cheers

    There used to be a chip LM3909 which ran off 1.5v and used only a single capacitor. They discontinued it. If you can find one through surplus, it is probably the simplest to construct. datasheet here It uses next to no current 0.5 mA. Cheers
