    modding a work lamp

You probably mean that they're not worth the hassle. This is very often true. In the case of work lamps, I had searched quite a bit and found many, cheap and pricey. When it comes to features, the one I finally bought seemed to me like the best alternative (for my needs). The pricey ones...

    modding a work lamp

Dear flashlight fellows, unfortunately I'm a bit too stressed to think clearly. :) I just got the "ZHISHUNJIA COB18 18-LED 2-Mode Neutral White Lamp". It includes a compartment for 3 AA batteries. I thought that I would use it repairing the car these days, but it's not really bright. There's a...

    What's the SAFEST NiMH charger?

Sorry to pop in, but I wondered about that since a while ago: Does the Maha remember the last charge current setting or does it always start with the 1000mA default (if I read that well in the manual?). I would find that a bit high and prefer around 700mA.

    My NiMh battery charger project

Hi Paul, that looks like a great charger! I think I read all the info you gave about it, sorry if I missed something. REQ: 3-mode LED buck/boost driver up to 1A

Aaah, of course! :) I had the vague idea (but didn't really think about it) that the circuit would adapt the current, but now I understand how it works! Of course, it's an easy solution. It's just a bit a pity that this way, you're not taking advantage of the higher efficiency of the LED at less...

REQ: 3-mode LED buck/boost driver up to 1A

@SkipH I'm glad you confirmed that 005872 was the right part! So I'll get 3 or 5 of those for possible modding actions when I'll have the flashlights. And I'm glad you linked to Hrvoje's interesting mod! I remember others mention here having a problem with this part, and they had to shorten a...

REQ: 3-mode LED buck/boost driver up to 1A

Dear other flashlight addicts, :) I am planning to get some flashilghts at DX, but I really want three modes. For those small flashlights with an AA or even AAA, I really don't see the point in throwing lots of light and only having a single mode, so having no choice to use the flashlight...
