    123 Battery Shoot Out

Thanks for all your work and sharing your expertise. There is nothing like real-world data to dispense marketing puffery. I appreciate review here and the alkaline battery review. You're not only helping us get the most for our money, you're helping us "vote" with our dollars to support those...

    Battery Testing Question

Thanks coppertrail. I have a new ZTS tester as well. I'll assume from your response that testing batteries under load will not shorten the shelf life.

    Battery Testing Question

I forgot to mention, I'm talking about CR-123s.

    Battery Testing Question

When is the best time to test primaries? When they first arrive, to see if anything needs to be returned? Or just before using them to make sure they are matched at the time of use. I THINK I remember reading here that by testing batteries under load, you start a reaction and the liklihood...

Maha C9000 failure statistics, all users please post

I received my C9000 on 12/28. So far I have performed "Break In" charges on 12 AA Sanyo 2700 batteries and on 8 AAA Sanyo 1000 batteries. So far no problems whatsoever.

Maha MH-C9000, the Wizard One Charger

Thank you both for your advice. This gives me a ballpark discharge rate to consider/use. I got my C9000 today and I feel like a kid in a candy store. I originally wanted to use the Analyze/Refresh function, but couldn't figure out the charging and discharging rates. So instead I started a...

Maha MH-C9000, the Wizard One Charger

Thanks, I think this was the cause of most of my confusion: I mis-read the math. I'll re-read the FAQ and instructions with this in mind. 1.0C is more in line with the upper-bound advice William was giving, I just (wrongly) assumed he was discussing a one-time super charge. I feel confident...

Maha MH-C9000, the Wizard One Charger

Thanks, that makes Break-in mode easier than the others. I wish Charge and Analyze had a straightforward solution. I've read through the threads (and am posting in "electronics, batteries included"), but am more confused than ever with the different options and battery capacities. I'm just...

Maha MH-C9000, the Wizard One Charger

After reading the MH-C9000 FAQ and instructions, I'm confused. At what levels should I set charge/discharge for break-in, analyze/refresh, and a basic charge? I have Sanyo 1000 AAA and 2700 AA batteries. I see from the instructions that .1C is the upper bound for charging, but .1C of 1000...

Maha MH-C9000, the Wizard One Charger

I received a Thomas Distributing email stating my charger shipped yesterday (12/22) and I'm looking at a 12/28 arrival! Woohoo, a post-Christmas package! Oh, and I also heard from Eric Miller. My two CREE 4 Modded ARCs will be arriving about the same date. Things are coming together nicely...

+1 on DeathsHead. I'm having him make up some pocket and keychain cell holders. Great reviews on his kydex bending.

Maha MH-C9000, the Wizard One Charger

No kidding! This charger sounds amazing. Will it also cook my breakfast eggs? I like over easy. Seriously, I'm glad I got in on the pre-order. Can't wait for the units to start shipping.

Maha MH-C9000, the Wizard One Charger

For $70, I'm in. That is a fair price on what looks to be a great product. I'll keep looking in CPF for a pre-order.

First charge on Sanyo AA 2700s & AAA 1000s

Strike that--I live in Massachusetts and it's cold now for the Fall/Winter. I'm putting the charger in a shady window sill and that will keep the batteries cool without needing to power a fan.

First charge on Sanyo AA 2700s & AAA 1000s

EXCELLENT!! Thanks for your specific research. I started charging the Sanyo 2700 AA batteries yesterday, 4 at a time. I'm leaving them in the charger for 10-12 hours--shorter for the AAAs. Once everything is charged, I'm going to cycle them through discharge-charge cycles until my Miller Mod Arc...

Ok, thanks. That's a lot of charging time.

First charge on Sanyo AA 2700s & AAA 1000s

Thank you! Wow, 50 charges, that's incredible. I'm firing up my recharger and getting my NiMHs going! Thanks again for the info, I had been afraid to use the C402W for the first few charges because it is a fast charger. Thanks for the green light.

First charge on Sanyo AA 2700s & AAA 1000s

Anyone?? Do I just charge them up, discharge them first, or condition them on a low, constant charge? Don't want to make any mistakes.

First charge on Sanyo AA 2700s & AAA 1000s

One other question: If they charge hot, do I need to put a fan on them, or charge them in the garage (~50 F)? Thanks again.
