P1D-CE Thread issues - Natural VS Black

Natural here, threads are nice and tight. There was some crud in them initially and I thought the threads might loosen when I cleaned them out, but all is smooth and tight.

Thanks for all the help. I took the advice here, and my 2 Arc AAAs are scheduled to arrive at Eric's tomorrow. WooHoo!! Can't wait to receive the finished products.

    Need Miller Mod Arc-AAA advice

Good, most seem to be agreeing that 50ma is good for reading on the single-stage flood. If that's too much for walking around and preserving nightvision, I'll just tip the light up at the ceiling to cut down on illumination. Thanks for the reply.

    Need Miller Mod Arc-AAA advice

OK, this post is gold. Thanks for the time you spent, and for the head-to-head Lux comparison. RV1H for reading then, set at 50ma. Good color rendition and floody beam. I'll also ask if the reflector can be cut for even better flood. Thanks for helping me understand that. I read the MM...

    Need Miller Mod Arc-AAA advice

Hmmm, maybe I have a rev 3. I wasn't really into lights when I bought it so I'm not sure about the rev. number. I purchased it about 1 to 1.5 years ago. All I know is that it has the bigger, straight-walled head. Maybe I'll put fresh batteries in both tonight and do a side by side...

    Need Miller Mod Arc-AAA advice

Thanks, this kind of feedback really helps. I'll look for the premium LED. OK, this kind of comparison really helps. My eyes are not bad, but not as strong as they once were. I'm leaning towards the 50ma for reading so I can really see clearly. I tend to bounce my rev 5 light off the...

    Need Miller Mod Arc-AAA advice

Thanks, a 50ma reading with a flood polish on the reflector would give me decent light and runtime--good for around the house/hotel, and good for reading. Thanks for the comparison.

    Need Miller Mod Arc-AAA advice

Thanks to both of you for the information. It's really helping my understanding. How does the 25ma compare to the stock Arc (either v4 or v5 since I can compare). Is it about the same brightness/throw/flood? You said it's about right for reading, I assume the 50ma might be overkill...

    Need Miller Mod Arc-AAA advice

I'm new to flashlights and don't understand much of the technical aspects of lights. I have an A2 and 2 Arc-AAAs, one Premium 4th generation and one P 5th generation. I'd like to get my Arc's modded by Miller, but don't understand the power output levels. Here's what (I think) I would like...

    LED light for power outages?

Hey, I didn't realize I'd get a free AAA LED flashlight with my order. Cool. I'll also put some of the small $1 keychain lights around the house so I can get to tome lights if I don't happen to have one in my pocket the way I did last night. I'll keep my eyes out for a Dorcy, and the $5...

    LED light for power outages?

I put a few PAL SafeLights on order with Lighthound, along with some goodies for my Mini-Mag. Thanks again for all your help and the friendly welcome. I'll enjoy hanging out here more often and coming up to speed on the wonderful technology out there. *Edit for spelling

    LED light for power outages?

A related question: I have two Mini Maglights. Does anyone offer an LED upgrade? I'd like something about as bright, or a touch brighter, than the original bulb. Thanks

    LED light for power outages?

Thanks for the warm welcome and excellent suggestions. I appreciate the advice. I've started a search for more info on the models recommended here. Since I'm looking for a wide and dim beam good for reading in bed or moving from room to room, the Pal Light and Pak Light are looking good...

    LED light for power outages?

The power to my house went out for 2 hours tonight from 9-11pm. Fortunately my A2 Aviator was in my pocket and I was able to get to a large 2 Million CP light, aim it at the ceiling, and provide enough light to get my 4 kids into jammies and off to bed. The A2 was perfect for moving through...
