What I meant was that if he was impatient and couldn't get the switch assembly out that he could try whacking the battery tube against something hard to make the battery holder...

    If you're lucky enough to find a flathead screwdriver that fits perfectly you can use that as well to unscrew it. Other than that I'd just remove anything that might break, like the bulb and start whacking the hell out of it :p

    Exactly. When the switch is open the Shark acts as if no pot is connected at all and thus gives you as much as it can give. When the switch is closed the resistors get connected and the output drops. Just wish I had set the low output a bit lower but I'm quite happy with it as it is :)

    Thanks for posting this. I wont be replicating this circuit but I wasn't quite clear on how to hook up resistors instead of a pot. Hopefully I'll be able to fit what I want to do inside my 2C (that dang thing is cramped...)
