Any flashlights with battery status indicator?

The LiteFlux LF5XT has one but I'm not sure about their other products.

MTE Lifetime Guarantee exclusions - you've got to read this

That's stolen straight out of the Pelican flashlight manuals.

Just a MS paint rendering of a possible future light, tell me your thoughts

The heat sink isn't there to protect the flashlight body, it's to stop the emitter from letting out its magic smoke.

    Two vs Three mode

I prefer a proper lamp (as in proper bulb in a lamp on the side of the desk/bed/what have you). Sure there might be times when I might read something when I don't have a wall socket nearby but then a reasonable medium setting works fine. GPS :D I'm not lucky enough to have anyone to wake up...

When will there be an LED brighter than the Cree Q5?

Indeed. I think a lot of people forget just how recent the CREE explosion is. The board was absolutely buzzzing at the time of release, people were going nuts for it. Some people didn't even believe the claims and said it was all hype. Fast forward a few months and people are already screaming...

    Two vs Three mode

2 modes. I've never (no really, never) found a low low useful for anything. I use a flashlight to see not to squint and barely be able to see.

'Tis the season for price "adjustments".

P1D CE Q5 is on THE Fenix store site

Believe it or not, different people prefer different things ;) Personally I always want my lights to turn on full blast when I turn them on. I use my lights to see, not preserve night vision. That said, I'm done with click-click-click lights with one exception, the HDS EDC.

    Novatac 120P Pulsing Problem

Just took a look at my EDC U60GT (modded with a Seoul) and when going from max to min it does a couple of _very_ quick pulses before being steady, it's so quick you have to look for it though. And you also have to look away from the scorching hot spot for your eyes to even be able to pick it up...

    L4 Lumamax

I'm using a 17670 in mine without any trouble. I see it has been mentioned in this thread that newer bodies might have less clearance but that's the first I've heard of that with the L4 and 17670. If it doesn't fit you'll have a perfect excuse to buy another light that it DOES fit in ;)

    L4 Lumamax

You're gonna love it. But if you have any CREE/Seoul lights you might find it a bit "dim" in comparison due to the floody nature of it. Don't get me wrong though, it really is a wall of light. Correct about the batteries. Can't help you on the body shopping.

    Fenix P3D Rebel 100 - Quality issues

Good to see, not that I was worried about it though. I don't know why people are so worried about the heatsinking of the Rebel. Something tells me that Lumileds knows a tad more about LEDs than most CPFers and I'm pretty sure they've done a tiny bit of research before releasing the Rebel in its...

    Fenix P3D Rebel 100 - Quality issues

I guess I could've been more precise in my reply. I was thinking more of the "short term effects" of poor heat sinking so to speak. I was thinking more in terms of the LED burning out due to excessive heat before having time to dump it anywhere that the user would notice. I'm much too tired to...

    Fenix P3D Rebel 100 - Quality issues

A well sinked emitter will make the body of the flashlight heat up faster, not the other way around. If the emitter isn't transferring its heat into the flashlight, where will it go? Nowhere is where and the body of the flashlight will remain cool while the emitter cooks.

Your Flashlight is Cool But I Have Something Better

It hasn't always been that way around here but it seems to be shifting in that direction lately. What happened to just being happy about the lights you had and talking about them and others from a hobby perspective rather than from a my **** is bigger than yours point of view?

Buy the Fenix L2D-CE or wait for the L2D RB100?

You do know that LEDs aren't used solely for flashlights, right? What might be considered a con for flashlights can be a pro for a completely different application. You're judging the new package based on how it is being used in a very very small part of the LED market.

    Poll Fenix Rebel Lights

None of the above? Personally I don't see what all the fuss is about with the Rebels (yes I've read numerous threads/tests since they were first introduced).

    Self Defense with an LED

There you go, legal to carry even. I'm sorry but you seem to be overcomplicating things.
