    Sold/Expired Custom CNC works $20/hour

Generally, how much should we expect to pay for setup of the machine(s) for each different job?

    Magnet affect my light?

There used to be a long thread regarding this in the Arc forums. I think it was concluded (by Gransee and others) that there shouldn't be any ill effects due to exposure. However it can influence output while the flashlight is turned on with the maget attached as it can potentially (temorarily)...

Any flashlights with battery status indicator?

The LiteFlux LF5XT has one but I'm not sure about their other products.

How do you track your flashlight collections?

28 and I hope my memory doesn't fade at the same rate my bold spot is growing ;) Maybe I should take precautions and get the list started before it's too late

It's a sad day for me my friends! But it just got better!!

Just wanted to peak my head in and say some of you guys must have some serious bad luck with DHL. The company I work for use DHL for pretty much all outgoing packages. We are a small company and ship in the neighbourhood of 500-1500 packages a month depending on how busy we are. In the 3-4 years...

    Disinfect lights

Do you also wear gloves when shaking hands with someone? Do you use a paper towel when you turn on the faucet in the kitchen at work? Do you wipe down your mouse, pen, stapler, etc every day? When exiting a building, do you clean the door handle? How about light switches? Handrails around...

    Disinfect lights

I think generally people are too worried about bacteria these days. Just ponder this simple thing. You go to a public restroom, you do your thing, wash your hands and then turn off the water with the same hand you turned it on with and finally you grab the perfectly clean doorhandle (since...

How do you track your flashlight collections?

I must ask. How many lights do you guys have that you need to keep a spreadsheet for it all? It seems just a wee bit excessive to me. I only have around 20-30 lights but it's not like it's hard to remember if a light uses 123s or AAAs. As for price... well I don't WANT to know the total :P

MTE Lifetime Guarantee exclusions - you've got to read this

That's stolen straight out of the Pelican flashlight manuals.

"LED Nose Ring" - seen it all now!

I saw something today that wasn't far off. Let's just say that it's only for gals... and the bikini the gal in question was wearing was blinking in a place where you would normally not see something blinking... :D

    LED Wedding Ring?

I remember someone posted a ring with a SMD LED on it. IIRC it was actually more like two rings with the LED resting between them. No "onboard" powersource though. To turn it on he slid a tiny watch battery inbetween the rings. Kinda hard to explain but I'm sure someone else will remember it and...

    Fans in Flashlights?

When these things get out into the real world it might make a weee bit more sense for smaller lights to have actual airflow for cooling. But I think the general consensus is that unless you have a big honking light with massive heat generation the smaller lights need the space for batteries...

    SuperSquatchaMegaBlastiNator 64458 (pic heavy)

Those are the values that your camera decided were the best for those two pics (I got that information by having a look at the EXIF data that your camera embedded in your pics). Try setting it to manual and use an exposure time somewhere in between those two and see how they turn out. It's hard...

Just a MS paint rendering of a possible future light, tell me your thoughts

The heat sink isn't there to protect the flashlight body, it's to stop the emitter from letting out its magic smoke.

PES2 Heatsink compatible with SSC P4?

The depressions are indeed a bit too small to fit the P4. However, you can sneak them in inbetween the depressions reasonably well. When I did it one of the P4s ended up with about 1/3 of its slug over one of the depressions IIRC so they don't all have perfect contact with the heatsink. I...

    Two vs Three mode

I prefer a proper lamp (as in proper bulb in a lamp on the side of the desk/bed/what have you). Sure there might be times when I might read something when I don't have a wall socket nearby but then a reasonable medium setting works fine. GPS :D I'm not lucky enough to have anyone to wake up...

When will there be an LED brighter than the Cree Q5?

Indeed. I think a lot of people forget just how recent the CREE explosion is. The board was absolutely buzzzing at the time of release, people were going nuts for it. Some people didn't even believe the claims and said it was all hype. Fast forward a few months and people are already screaming...
