    New RCR 123 from Lighthound??

My 7 month old LH blues are probably AW cells as well. Makes me wonder about the BS yellow cells. Could they be re-branded AW's as well? The BS yellows are marked 3.6v and the AW's are marked 3.7v. Tinder: Not sure of the dimensions, but I can tell you they are thicker. WRT SF lights I'm...

    New RCR 123 from Lighthound??

Thanks Moldy. Did your blues come with the silver AW sticker on it like the one in the picture? My 7 month old ones are just solid blue, but the wrapping seems pretty tough. I'm wondering if something has changed. MB

    New RCR 123 from Lighthound??

Just noticed that Lighthound has a new RCR that has an Battery Station label. You can see it Here It lists it as 900 mAh. Interesting that I couldn't find this RCR on the BS website. Anyone used this batt and does it run any longer than the traditional 750 mAh blue sold by Lighthound...

    Alkaline Battery deals?

I've used them many times w/o problems. I'm not going to leave them in a mission critical device like my 3D Mag under the seat in my car, but I've put them in high use devices like remote controls, digital cameras, Garmin GPS, or devices whereby I'm going to run through many primaries in a...

    Alkaline Battery deals?

Besides the Costco bricks of batteries, if you don't mind no-name brands, you can get a pretty good deal on the endurance batts at Advance Auto. Either of these you could pick up locally and avoid shipping. MB

How do you test Nimh batts?

So if you get one that isn't v33 OOTB, can you flash an update?? MB

How do you test Nimh batts?

What's with the 33?? How do you check this? I've browsed several retailers and I don't see any designation like this for the Bc-900. MB

How do you test Nimh batts?

Thanks for the info. BTW I haven't mixed brands and I intend to keep them marked as for age etc. It looks like that retailer/distributor is currently out of stock on the Lacross. I'm going to check around for it. MB

How do you test Nimh batts?

I have tons of them, mostly AA's. I find that sometimes my digital camera which takes 4 AA's will shut down after just a few shots because one or more of the AA's aren't holding a charge very well. Would this show by checking voltage? Most of my AA's are the same brand but I'd like to get...

What is the relative self-discharge rate of Li-ion?

Thanks Kevin. That's what I thought. MB

What is the relative self-discharge rate of Li-ion?

I've seen varying estimates on this. My recollection of most of the Li-ions I've had in laptops is that the batt life is fairly short but the self discharge rate is very gradual. Recently though I seem to remember a posted self discharge rate for Li-ions that was close to Nimh. That's got to...

What ever happened to Silver oxide batts?

I remember in the late 70's /early 80's I had a Canon AE-1 camera that took a small batt about half the size of an cr123 but roughly the same proportions. The battery was a Silver or Silver oxide batt and was expensive even then (about $12 apiece). That original battery lasted in the camera...

    rechargable lithium 123 batteries?

Sphynx, I've got these and am using them in an Surefire light. They work just fine and that little Nano charger travels easy. It also can be used overseas w/ the right socket adapter as it regulates it's own voltage /hz. MB

    4AA VS 4D bulb question

I did get a set of non-blinking bulbs of the same type. I haven't been able to find any that were rated for 4xAA. Since I'm using NIMH I don't think I need to worry about the current. Only time will tell how long the batts last before a recharge. MB

    4AA VS 4D bulb question

Thanks Roy. :ohgeez: READING the package...it does says it's a "blinking" bulb. It is small print but it's there :). MB

    4AA VS 4D bulb question

I have a question about incan. bulbs rated for 4D cells as opposed to 4AA. I use these cheap automatic motion sensing lights in my hallways so that I don't have to flip lights on and off all the time (and possibly leave them on). Anyway they take either 4AA cells or the optional 6V wall...

Am I on the brink of disaster?

Lunar, I was going to say "this bud's for you" but reading the end of your great post(all of it actually!) I guess I'll just say "this Fosta's for you mate"! EXACTLY the type of info I was looking for! From what I had read it appeared that if your light reached anywhere near 140deg F you were...

Am I on the brink of disaster?

Tom, thanks for the reply, but could you please define "push things a little"? Does this mean using the light for more than a couple of minutes at a time whereby it gets warm/hot ? Thanks Mb

Am I on the brink of disaster?

I was pretty happy with my RCR123 Nano charger and 2 protected cells I got from Lighthound until I started reading this forum. Now I'm really confused as to whether or not I'm playing with a loaded gun. If Li-ions are so dangerous then why have they powered laptops for as long as they have...

    Li-ion + Charger Rec for E1L

Just got my E1L and I was looking at the Nano + 2 protected Li-ion 750mAh from Lighthound. I'm thinking at this point that these might be a good choice. Does anyone have any suggestions for this light? Thanks MB
