    Poor show Surefire..

Despite the bashing they get here on CPF, many times on this site I've stated that Mag makes perhaps the most reliable light on the planet (incan bulbs aside of course). A light is only as reliable as it's weakest link and I'll agree that SF has a problem with switches. Another reason I feel...

    SURGE OF DISAPOINTMENT

Unfortunately after my Attitude mishap I have no faith in PT products. The problem I had with mine was the same problem that others warned me about right after I bought mine. Although PT provided an replacement module, the same happened repeatedly. I like their waterproofness, but I just...

Sometimes it's just gotta' be an incan.

Yeah, but that's what I'm now wondering. In what other situations will LED technology come up short?? Can anyone think of any other examples? MB

Sometimes it's just gotta' be an incan.

Well, as far as LEDs go I thought that my 3D Mag-led had all that. It throws like a monster at night. However, it couldn't do a thing with it's purplish/faint tint inside the engine compartment. This is why I really believe in some respects that LEDs have a long way to go. I now see why the...

Sometimes it's just gotta' be an incan.

Maybe, but isn't a HID just a bright incan? MB

Sometimes it's just gotta' be an incan.

I really thought that LED technology had for the most part caught incans on brightness and especially runtime. Great improvements have also been made in throw, especially if you consider what MAg has done with the Mag-led dropin and other leds that really use a reflector well. What I didn't...

    Flashlights in "Poseidon"

I have not seen the "new" Poseidon, but I do remember Ernie Borgnine using that silver (looked like an extra long Eveready Captain) light in the original 70's film. He even used it underwater. I remember even back then thinking that there was no way that light was watertight. I knew someone...

    Does Mag own Nite-Ize?

Now we know they don't have any of those or they'd have had an Led flashlight (or anything new for that matter) out a long time ago :). MB

    Does Mag own Nite-Ize?

In the case of a family owned business like MAG there really is no purpose for a board of directors. "Grand Poobah" Tony can make all the decisions and since MAG doesn't declare dividends or File reports with the SEC (both functions of a board in a pub held) a board could certainly exist but...

    Does Mag own Nite-Ize?

Mag is a privately held company. The don't have to have any board members per se. MB

Surefire: "AA light by the end of 2006"

Well, thinking REALTIVELY and w/o math I get: Nobility=$$$ I hope this little light doesn't end up too noble ;) MB P.S. You've got a "noble" light of your own Don, and I don't remember it being that much more than your HAIII.

They might, but just about any product takes development time and they've got a timeline promise to keep :). MB

Lights you would never buy for yourself.

Personally I would never buy one of those Eternalghts nor would I ever buy that Heliotek(sp?) thing. MB

    Self-Defense with Only a Flashlight

I gots to think that about all that could be said on the subject would cover about the same amount of verbiage as an average Ogden Nash poem: "Perp. and I we had a fight I hit (w/mag) Perp. bit we quit." Ogden Nash  MB

    Redefining "Flashlight as a weapon"

Looks like some Virginia Tech engineering student(Blacksburg) hoped to go the way of self employment after graduation. I wonder how the field testing went :). MB

    Self-Defense with Only a Flashlight

I thought I remembered a song about this years ago, went something like.... "Everybody was Flashlight Fighting....dew dew dew dew dew dew Those beamshots were fast as lightning...dew dew dew dew dew dew dew Ohhh Hoah Hoah Hoooooow....Ohhhh Hoah Hoah Hoooooow" I could be wrong though :)

Surefire: "AA light by the end of 2006"

I'm curious as to just what kind of performance the AA "Pock Rock" actually has. And is the Pock Rock from shot show the AA light SF has in mind for 2006 or is it something else they've got in works that we don't know about? I guess they like to keep us in suspense :). MB
