    River Rock R-TM321XSE6

I got one of these yesterday, and aside from the R-clickie I couldn't be happier for $22. The beam must be hit or miss because mine is white and just about artifact free. It appears to have a little of the PP Lux in it's beam in that I'm seeing several rings of varying intensity from the...

    minimag AA/LED vs Terralux TLE-5

Are-n-cha just a lil' disappointed in the shape/design of the head and the lanyardhole-less tailcap? It just looks a little cheaper to me. I'm going to get one of these but I think the older design of the MM looked better despite the fact that it's dated. I dunno maybe it's just me. MB

    Minimag LED release date

Does anyone have any beamshots of the 2AA? Or...am I not looking in the right places? Thanks MB

Thinking about getting an Kino Bay

Geepond, Yes there is going to be an Surefire AA light, but I don't think it's a dedicated AA. I believe the tube is convertable. I started a thread some time ago about this after I received an email from SF confirming the release of this light by the end of 2006. I'd like to see a dedicated...

Thinking about getting an Kino Bay

That is true about the scale of the graphs, but I specifically remember the review mentioning about 37 minutes of runtime. I thought that there was a correction to that some time ago, but again I may be wrong. And YES, I'd like to more top quality 1xAA American made lights as well. MB

Thinking about getting an Kino Bay

The only problem is that the output of the Pacific w/ 1xAA is less in both total and throw than the Kino. I thought that the runtime problem was fixed or was an error in testing by FR for the Kino, but I don't see a correction. Maybe I'm wrong. MB

Thinking about getting an Kino Bay

The reason is I really want a quality single AA light. I'm not overly impressed with the quality of either my Jet or Triton. Both perform very well, but I have my doubts as to the reliability of either. I suspect I'd feel the same way about the Fenix if I owned one. I don't particularly care for...

What happened to Surefire AA Light????

I'm going to have to disagree with the notion that you can define high/low end by battery type. I don't think anyone here expects the pock-rock to be priced competitively or compete with *ANY* cheap import or AA light per se. Remember that it was SF who brought the price of 123's down in order...

    Anybody own a Maxlite?

Does anyone have any specs for the light like lumens/runtime etc? I found specs somewhere out there but not those. T'wood be nice if FR could review/test this light. MB

    Anybody own a Maxlite?

No I don't own one, but it sure is an interesting light, not to mention EXPENSIVE. The rear end of the light actually reminds me of the Galdius, which isn't HA either. MB

Streamlight propoly 4aa,luxeon or xenon? I cant decide ... ..

I'd at least check Fox-intl. They have about the best price on this light I've seen and from their name (intl) they can probably ship it cheaper than BG. MB

    Mag drop in's/2D lights

Yes as Handlo stated some may have them some may not. I'm forutunate to have about 5 Wallys within about a 15 mile radius. Most have them but most are also out of stock right at the moment. I went ahead and bought the 3D pill at one of my stores for my car 3D Mag for $18. I put the pill in...

    Mag drop in's/2D lights

Piper, I've asked this on another thread but have yet to get an answer. Have you been able to compare the 2/3/4/ C/D Mag-led dropins to say Diamonds, or another brand like Terralux? Does the Mag-led use a Lux? The package at Wally doesn't say. Thanks MB

    Maglite D-cell LED conversion?

The question I've been searching the forums for is how do the 2/3 D cell mag-led replacements at Walmart compare to Diamond's units? Does anyone know if the led's in the Mag-led replacement pill is a lux? I looked at a 3 c/d cell one for $18.95 at Wally today but it doesn't say. I remember...

    Surefire's TIR lense

Here's the way I look at it. Yes an incan has an expected lifetime and an Led has an unknown lifetime. But with an incan you can carry a spare bulb, with most led lights you can't. Sooo if by chance, no matter how small, that led fails you're really up S.C. MB

Dust under the lens, can you guess the brand?

I'm not sure I'd go that far, but it makes me smile when I think about the lastest SF ad in Popular Science Magazine. In the ad, there is a picture of a light shining in an underground cave and a spiel about how if your light fails "no one can hear you scream". I wonder if anyone with the SF...

    MagLED news?

I'm thinking they're waiting for the much lower unit costs of the K2. With Mag it's always about cost. MB

Amilite Neo T3 or Surefire E1L

I got my 48 minutes off the Nano and I've only tested it once so far. Maybe I'll get 1hr once they've been ramped up. Ion, are you getting 2 hrs of flat runtime on primaries? MB
