First, i am fom Germany, so i know nothing about tornado shelters, but i think one of the zebralights would work great for this task.

    Photon Freedom Battery Type??

off topic: These Lithium coin cell's names are a size code. 2032 means 20mm diameter and 3.2mm height That means a 2016 is exactly half thickness at 1.6mm

Do I need an F04 diffuser for my A2?

One great thing about the A2 that is seldom mentioned is the floody low beam and the more focused spot of the icnan. No need for a diffuser!

    How shockproof is Surefire?

Do you own an E2D? It will NOT hold up well! for breaking glass one wants to use hardened steel or a carbide tip, but not aluminium.

Do you always use your "best"?

Every light i own is the best for its own task, and if its only on sitting a shelf, where some lights do what they are intended for: Looking good and impress with flawless fit and finish. So yes, i use all of them, but in different ways.

    Batteries Don't Fit SF A2

That is strange, the Battery Station cells should fit, although a little tight. A little boring/polishing out could be done, but you'd have to cover the electronics in the body that no chips find their way in the regulator. edit: KT was faster, one thing to add is that the SF L1 and A2 are...

    Help with SF-Newbie

The 8NX uses 3 Sub-C cells. You can make your own stick from 3 NiMh Cells, but you have to use some thin wire to run the negative contact point to the front, just like the original. modern cells tend to be thicker than the old NiCd used, so use some thin shrinkwrap for the pack.

    120-lumen East German LED light

no clue where the 125 lumen rating comes, the light is actually rated with 125 Lux! And it is not a LED light, but Docter has a new LuxVLED light now. Docter SpotLED I already have it , maybe i do a small review

Looking for a SF with wide spot

You can buy a beamshaper for most of the Surefire lights. This is a difussion filter placed on the bezel. web page Or you can use the KL4 (head of the L4) on a 1 cell body and use a 4,2V lithium ion battery in it. (with short runtime)

Re: SUREFIRE M3 head on M4 body- anyone tried th [ QUOTE ] RAF_Groundcrew said: Actually, I was looking for a way of getting more lamp power cheaply, so the purely cosmetic approach, with a battery spacer would not interest me. [/ QUOTE ] Then you can use 2x 17670 LiIon cells in the M4...

Are Microlights Over Rated as EDCs ?

Re: Microlights Over Rated as EDCs ? [ QUOTE ] PhotonWrangler said: If you are in a pitch black room or an equipment closet with no lights, then nothing can be overrated as an EDC. [/ QUOTE ] No, thats not really true. I had to use a lighter several years ago in a power outtage. This thing...

    Xenon Short Arc flashlights?

Why short arc? Very good focusing ability without a huge reflector! VERY good color. much more uniform than any D2s bulbs. Not tinted yellow or blue, just white, nothing other. The metal Halide bulbs have a way better efficiency if that is what you need. My 50W system should be ready in a few...

    Xenon Short Arc flashlights?

Xenon short-arc and cheap do simply not fit together. Are you really looking for a flashlight? I dont know one, just searchlights like Maxa Beam and the xenonics Nighthunter.

red lens cover vs red led

If only red light is needed, the red LED is better. Better eficiency and longer lasting. But the beams of the colored lights aren't as good as the white ones. I suggest to look at the A2 from Surefire, this can have a low beam with red LEDs and bright Xenon high beam. Maybe this fits your needs...

My Surefire 9P to L2 mod....

why not using a beamshaper and some tae to adjust the light output? no donut hole and better light for close distances.
