XML Heat differences Neutral vs Cool White?

Unless both leds have the exact same forward voltage you can not compare them when run from a battery. In general the neutral ones are less efficient and thus run hotter. Are the stars the same?

    a hole in my HDS???

If the threads are covered with grease they are be somewhat airtight. The small hole allows the air to escape fom the light if it is screwed together. The trapped air would build up pressure and cause the tailcap to bulge out, especially if the already pressurized air expands if the whole light...

If you need the enforcer at full power the listed lights wont be enough. Why don`t you replace the battery pack with a Li-Ion one?

Tiablo A9 Collimator head on different lights?

Yes it makes perfect sense. The XR-E Led used in the 256 lumens version has less overall light, but the light source is also smaller. The surface brightness is higher, and surface brightness is important for throw. Look herefor a review that shows the difference.

    Nitecore D10 problems

I had the same problem! Tried alkies, eneloops 14500 - no luck! But with the head screwed out 1/4 turn it worked like it should. I used the light that way two days and now it works just fine! With every battery type i put in there. Maybe it needs just some breaking in. (also bought three EX10...

    Focusable Flashlight for a baitboat

I don`t know a step down converter wit an adjustment pot. Could you use the filtered output of the receiver? If that supplies about one amp it would be easy. I am about 70km from Augsburg, so it would not be a problem to see if the lens fits your needs.

    Focusable Flashlight for a baitboat

Use a Cree XRE LED and an aspherical lens in a maglite and you will get a beam that is focusable to a tight line with almost no spilllight. Look here for example. Shark driver would maybe work, but remember that it is a boost driver, so you would need an extra battery for the light. Why not...

    Surefire L6 issue

I had the same problem. I used a spacer between the head and the body. and i used the z58 clicky tailcap. Maybe the clicky alone helps too, but i sold my L6 so i can' t check that for you.

A big BUT to buy the SF U2

If one spends that much money on a light he should be satisfied and not have to live with imperfections. If i were you i would look for a nice used one and ask the seller about your concerns. Everyting IMO of course.

    LED options for Surefire M6?

I think it is waste to use the M6 as host for a LED. Too big and heavy, and a shock isolation that becomes useless. Z3+A19 with 3" Turbohead or even a 12PM/12ZM bored out to use 18mm cells would be better suited for a LED IMHO.

Just a word on the L5

The L4 nd L5 have only a step up converter, that means a Voltage higher than the Vf of the LED results in direct drive or much higher currents to through the LED. L4 and L5 are not intended to use with 3 cells! This may (will) damage the LED and/or the regulator. The L6 and KL1 can take 3...
