One easy way to copper plating aluminum

My guess is that it erases ;) the aluminium oxides from the surface. It is done with the wet eraserto prevent new oxides from building.

    Lupine piko led swap

The piko is not modded that often, simply because there are not so many of them around. Lupine says the piko is not user upgradeable like the other models, seems to be crwoded inside the kittle bugger. I have one and am happy with the tint, but would wish a bigger hotspot, but i don't know any...

    Tiablo A9 SSR-50 Mod

Great mod, but where are the before/after beamshots? ;) Does it also work with the aspheric head?

SST-90 True CC Driver 10 Amps Hi/Lo Mode

If i grab a SSC90 equipped light i want "Holy Crap Bright" and nothing else... µC and lots of modes are nice to have if you want that, but please give us a KISS version too. Two modes, "Bright" and "Holy Crap Bright" are sufficient for a light in this output class IMHO. For closeup work...

    Luminus LED's in Europe?

AMU ELECTRONICS in germany is also selling them, much more expensive but you know what bin you are getting.

How to open an Inova X5

Basically you fill the light with water and put it in the feezer. As the water freezes it expands and pushes the led assembly out a little bit. Repeat as often as neccesary and put some fine new LEDs in.

Build a headlamp to beat the 1200$ Lupine Betty? With Ostar 6 or EZ1000?

Welcome to the Candlepowerforums! Well, with 1500 kilogram i would not be satisfied with only 1400 Lumens... Seriously, did you intend to build the Lamp from scratch or just upgrade an existing headlamp?

    Coffeemaker-Lantern

Did you already test that monster? I think you have slight design error here: The LED is pointing upwards, blinding everybdy who looks at the light, but no light hits the ground/table. IMO the LED belongs on the upper part of the lantern.

Did anybody change the batteries on the K2000R?

hmmm, that is strange. My shorty runs well over an hour, but the warrior only 45 minutes. That is more than 25% difference. Clear question ;) :What brand and what capacity are the cells used in the K2000r

Did anybody change the batteries on the K2000R?

Title says all, compared to the other 24W HIDs that use 3 18650 cells it seems like either the ballast is very inefficient or they just use cheap batteries. Anyone opened up the battery compartment yet?

NOT JUST ANOTHER THOR MOD !! (the Maxablaster!)

Re: NOT JUST ANOTHER THOR MOD !! WOW! Where did you get that beautiful reflector? I dont even dare to ask what it cost you to build this Maxabeam Crusher. Really impressive!

Project: Li-poly 3 white LED flashlight

Why do you use a LiPoly cell here? The three LED sure don't need the huge current capability of them.

A weird experience with a Luxeon III...

The wizard should power that LED just fine from the pila cell, i guess there is a contact problem somewhhere.

Combat Grip for the Surefire E-series

The only part from Surefire is the Z57 tailcap. Balrog 1 cell body and PR-T head from McGizmo with nice LuxIII, powered from a CR123 Li-Ion. Of course this method can be used for different lights. Here is a picture from A2 and E2L compared to the standard Combat grips on M3T and L6.

Combat Grip for the Surefire E-series

I really like the Combat Grip in my M3, so I decided to add something similar to smaller Lights. Just an O-ring wrapped around. I carried the light for two weeks now, and it works perfect! Much better grip and that for the cost of some cents. Of course a pocket clip has to be removed /...

how to bore out body for 18650 and larger PILAs?

Re: how to bore out body for 18650 and larger PILA It is possible to bore the M3 out, but the material gets VERY thin at the o-ring groove. Don't try it without a lathe. If you are skilled with a round file you can do it, but always measure the wall thicknes. I did that only on an A19, not...

    The SF M6-R - Part 2

The MN16 is recomended as LOLA, but the MN20 works too. I will test MN20 runtime later today, MN16 runs for >40 minutes.

    M6-R Field Testing

Everything is fine here, the MN20 is also bright and white. I dindn't expect that. Prolepsis is right about the charging cable, this is a little weak. But i se no way it can be reinforced. And the "edges" of the contact plates may show wear after time, especially if the pack is often...

    M6-R Field Testing

M6/MN20 is brighter than M6-R/MN16. Of curse. Just finished a a continous MN16 run: 42 minutes to pulsing, dimming 10 seconds after. That is not an overwhelming result, but it is in the nature of the high current cells. I haven't used the MN20 with the M6-R so far, but maybe i can take some...

    M6-R Field Testing

[ QUOTE ] Prolepsis said: I bet you Pyro is busy lighting things up. [/ QUOTE ] How did you know? I share most of the opinions from the other testers: Well made, useful instructions. NO dimming over the tuntime, bright and white all the time. Startup takes longer on the rechargeable...
