    Variable Brightness AND XM-L?

Were starting to see a variety of lights using Crees XM-L emitter, all the way from the MiNiX 123 up to the v2 Catapult. And growing in popularity are lights having some form of variable brightness control (Ra Rotary, RRT MCS rings, etc.). What I havent seen is a light incorporating both of...

New guy with and old question: What is the BRIGHTEST LED production flashlight?

Ditto. The light OTF from 4Sevens' Quark MiNi CR2 on high still makes me giggle.

Where are the Continuously Variable Lights?

Amen, brother. I work for a company (not going to state which one, but one might be able to figure it out) that's been embroiled in a patent-infringement case for many, many years. We're only fortunate that our company owner does have deep enough pockets (still) to deal with the legal fees.

Choosing between 2 lights for EDC use (Rough use)

chanjyj, I hear that the standard CPF answer is "get both," and I can understand that now, holding as I am my keychain with attached Quark MiNi in one hand and my Ra Clicky Tac in the other. If the former gets lost in the ocean or run over in the parking lot, I can replace it relatively...

The *NEW* Ra/HDS upcoming light speculation thread....

So far, I've heard three credible rumors/statements: that there will be a "next-generation (brighter) Twisty," that there will be an AA/14500-sized body tube, and that a headlamp suitable for caving is coming soon. Therefore, my rhetorical/hypothetical/speculative question is this: could all...

    Jet 1 v.3 -vs- RRT-0 -vs- ?

And there's no way that the RRT-0 R5 version won't be noticeably brighter than the Jet-I, either NiMH AA or LiON 14500!

Two New ICON Lights: LINK (1AA) carabiner light, and SOLO (2AAA) Penlight

Was selling me the last Modus 2 the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back? ;)

    Streamlight PT 1L

More evidence that FlameOn was right, and the low mode is just an afterthought here. E.g., shouldn't runtime at 10-12 lumens be more than 14 hours for a regulated light? A 3v ICON is rated at 72 hours at 10 lumens.

ICON Modus 1 and Modus 2

Yep, that was the intended market. People who need a full-flood flashlight about as bright as 3-4D Mag incandescent, but don't need something to swing like a baseball bat. ;)

    HDS EDC.... worth it?

Just paraphrasing this thread, in which Henry, as one would expect him to, neither fully confirms nor denies rumors, but gently corrects the OP on a point about batteries. Hope I didn't just cheat myself out of a nice new Ra light!

You couldn't just have waited for this resurrection a couple of months for Henry's next innovative creation? ;)

    Mini-Review - Lumapower "CPF Edition" IncenDio V3 XP-G R5 - 370 emitter lumens - wow!

Re: Mini-Review - Lumapower "CPF Edition" IncenDio V3 XP-G R5 - 370 emitter lumens - HIDblue, If you don't mind me appending a few of my thoughts, rather than replicating half of your review, I'd agree with most of your notes, with these few exceptions: 1. I agree on its beam and...
