    Received my Olight S10R from batteryjunction.com on December 4th. To date (three days), no issues at all. Charges fine, got 1:02 hr. runtime on "high," mode-switching is working fine. YMMV. :shrug:

    For the USB port? I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe blow the port out (with your breath or canned air) before charging. I carry an open USB thumb drive in my pocket all the time, and my phone doesn't doesn't have covers on its openings. No problems. So, prolly no big deal. :thumbsup:

    What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

    Olight S10R. A couple of weeks before, a Fenix E05 "2014" model. Other than those, only a couple of cheepo ones that I gave away. So those two represent the first "real" flashlights I've purchased since my Rex 2.0 and LumaPower Luma-Hunter M1. I've been outta touch. :duh2:

    If the ends of the tubes are clean of lube, etc., I'd first try backing the head off ever-so-slightly. That has worked on some similar form-factors. Also, it could be that the tube isn't even contacting the ring in the head (or tail). Try turning the spanner ring or module in towards the body.
