Pine Mountain Firelog review (hey, it *IS* incandescent...)

Nope, one at a time, the flames are pretty tall well, you *could*, I suppose, but it'd be heavy, bulky and inconvenient... You'd have to DIY one, but you'd better have a bloody strong belt, as it's guaranteed to pull your pants down, not the best thing to have happen in a cold, snowy...

Pine Mountain Firelog review (hey, it *IS* incandescent...)

We're in the depths of a multi-day, potentially even multi-week long power outage up here in York, Maine, brought on by a massive ice storm that blew through on 12/11/08, the entire New England area has been hammered, but Central Maine Power, in their infinite incompetence, didn't take the storm...

The A2 opened my eyes on incandescents

The A2 is a truly great light, I've been EDC'ing mine ever since I got it, almost two years ago, I'm still on the original incan bulb, and I use the light every day, mostly on LED (I have the 2 White/1 Red Aviatrix ring fitted), but I do fire up the Incan at least once a day (I use it to check...

SHOW SOME LOVE FOR INCANS ! ! !

I think part of the reason the Incan forum sees fewer posts is because Incandescent bulbs are a "mature" technology, wheras LED's are in a constant state of flux and the LED technology is always being improved and upgraded.... LED technology shares more commonality with the computer industry...

Your honest opinion on SF M6?

I'd *LOVE* to own a M6, but for me at least, it's well outside my price range, I'm an incan guy, I love my P91'ed G3, I can only look longingly at the M6, 500 lumens, gotta love it :) however, the other reason I wouldn't feel comfortable owning a M6 is it's prodigious battery appetite...

    P91'ed G3 Vs. Wood Tick....

why not, it's not like ticks are edible anyway....oh, you mean that *other* PETA....not People Eating Tasty Animals, right? ;)

    P91'ed G3 Vs. Wood Tick....

for some strange reason, our orange and white tabby cat, Nemo, came home tonight with a half-engorged wood tick on the back of his neck.... did I mention that here in southeastern Maine, we have a good 3-4" coat of heavy, wet snow on the ground... he must have picked it up in the hay barn...

SureFire P91 LA, I *LOVE* this LA!

So, the best bet to maximize P91 performance would be a dedicated 2-18650 body, like the Leef on Lighthound's site? looks like I may be building my first true Lego-Light soon, I figure a G&P tactical head, a Leef 2-18650 body, and a SF twisty tailcap would be a decent combo in the interim...

SureFire P91 LA, I *LOVE* this LA!

Yesterday, I stopped off at my local sporting goods shop and picked up a SF P91 for my G3, I wanted to see what this 200 lumen monsterbulb would be like long story short, I like it, I *really* like it, it puts out a very versatile large oval hotspot, oriented horizontally, it's great for wide...

    A2 or L1.

A2 incan on the left, P61 incan on the right, notice how much *whiter* the A2's beam is than the P60, both lights were using fresh batteries the P61 has a larger hotspot, but is yellower, distance to the house was about 25 feet I have an A2 and a gen 2 L1, I EDC the A2, the L1 is kept for...

Weigh In - Ultra Low Output Incan Needed!

Ultra-low output incan? that's easy..... Mag Instrument Solitaire, can't get much dimmer than that.... ;)

    MagCharger Vs. Tick....

Well, it's official, tick season has started <groan>, tonight i pulled a partially-engorged wood tick off my cat, i used one of those "Ticked Off" slotted spoon thingies and the annoying parasite came out cleanly, mouthparts and all the wretched critter was struggling vainly in the vicelike...

Just when i thought my E1L-SR would handle all my EDC needs, Incan to the rescue!

Over the past couple of weeks, i've really been enjoying my E1L-SR (KL1 Reflectorized and Seouled head), and i've even occasionally wondered if it could end up replacing my beloved A2 completely, after all, the E1L-SR is brighter *AND* runs on rechargables for Guilt-Free Lumens..... It...

So i want a small, bright incandescent...

Ask and you shall recieve; the picture below shows the A2 on the left, the P61 on the right, the P61 has a wider hotspot, but look at how much whiter the A2 is, it retains that brilliant white beam while the P61 gets yellower as the batteries drain....

Help! Just realised today that I dont have a single incan!

Add in another vote for the G2, a great, durable, inexpensive light, the only downside to it is the cost of 123a's when purchased from a brick-and-mortar retail store, and the price of the lamp assemblies..... both batteries and lamps are better purchased online, you get much better pricing SF...

    Battery Station E1W Winelight Combo

Y'know, this *could* be an evil plot by Batterystation to artificially shore up demand for the E1w and clear out their inventory..... whenever a light becomes a "limited edition" or "rare" light, demand skyrockets suddenly as all the collectors start snapping them up, clearing out their...

Browning sells a holster for their line of lights, just a basic nylon holster, has standard belt loop, but it also has two velcro loops that can be used to mount the holster horizontaly, i use one for my A2, fits great
