Small Portable Radio's?

Some other portable radios I have The Sangean is 4xD cells and the Tecsun is 2xD cells, both are pretty good depending on the size you like but I've become more accustomed to preset stations. Neither have been getting much use as Ive been using a new (used bits and pieces) home stereo for...

    Small Portable Radio's?

It came in the mail today, it doesn't come anywhere close to the old Sony in loudness but it beats it in just about everything else. I just use it to flip between 2 FM stations and it works really well for what I need it to do. Setting the time and favorites was pretty easy after reading the...

    Small Portable Radio's?

I bought a Sangean DT-200X from Amazon and a genuine Sangean antenna for it from AliExpress. They appear to be discontinued and I wanted to get one before they are gone forever and see how it compares to my old Sony ICF-S10MK2 that barely gets used anymore. I have the antenna, just waiting on...

Automotive Philips vs Toshiba HIR, output and voltage, does HIR tech follow the standard math?

From what I have ready multiple times, Toshiba HIR bulbs never went out of production. They moved production to China in the early 00s and no longer sold them to the public and that's where the misconception comes from. They still make them for automotive manufacturers as OE and can be bought...

    Small Portable Radio's?

I just bought one of these for about $45 Australian (US$30ish) shipped. It's a Tecsun R-304 and takes 2 D cell batteries and can use 240v mains, there is another version called a R-304D that has a 12v DC input if you wanted to use mains power in non 220-250v countries. When it arrives I'll...

Automotive Upgraded My Headlights But Still Have Questions

@SW44, I'll try to help you understand why you are getting flashed as I have friends and family that can't grasp the concept of what is happening. As above the glare from your headlights is wasted and dangerous light, normally with a regular bulb you will have cut offs and a focused beam that...

Automotive Philips "Vision" vs "VisionPlus" vs "X-treme Vision"

Re: Philips "Vision" vs "VisionPlus" vs "X-treme Vision" After testing the IPF X4 (Fatboy II) I didn't notice much improvement over the Philips Long Life bulbs so I put them back in the packet, then on recommendation I decided to try the Osram Silverstar 2.0 as they are the highest rated bulbs...

Automotive Philips "Vision" vs "VisionPlus" vs "X-treme Vision"

Re: Philips "Vision" vs "VisionPlus" vs "X-treme Vision" To add to the above, I also remember Daniel saying something like the lights adjusted to factory specs would only travel 40ish meters (less if lowered which it is) and at 0.7% down the light would travel 86 meters. Here is some low beam...

Automotive Philips "Vision" vs "VisionPlus" vs "X-treme Vision"

Re: Philips "Vision" vs "VisionPlus" vs "X-treme Vision" Yep, Daniel Stern suggested for me to have them adjusted to 0.7% down, also from his website: Above is based on a standard 1000 lumen bulb. Not exactly sure but it seems the rated life voltage would mean the hours...

Automotive Philips "Vision" vs "VisionPlus" vs "X-treme Vision"

Re: Philips "Vision" vs "VisionPlus" vs "X-treme Vision" I'm not really a fan of anything with a blue tint on the bulb, else the X-treme Vision would have been first choice. Narva do have the Plus 60 without any tint for about $30 posted but they don't have any specs on their website about...

Automotive Philips "Vision" vs "VisionPlus" vs "X-treme Vision"

Re: Philips "Vision" vs "VisionPlus" vs "X-treme Vision" The bulbs scatter light in all directions (mostly sideways and backwards as the tip of the bulb is solid black/silver) and its the headlight housing that focuses the beam, not the filament. The photos on the Philips website show the...

Automotive Philips "Vision" vs "VisionPlus" vs "X-treme Vision"

Just after some info on these lights, it seems the cheaper the lights the better the lumens despite the claims of +60%, +130% etc. Here are the specs from PowerBulbs (for H4/9003, prices in AUD) Philips Vision +30% 1815 Lumens $20.44 Philips VisionPlus +60% 1780 Lumens $32.72 Philips...

    Review: ThruNite Archer 1A

First post has been updated with beamshots. And for reppens, there is no visable PWM, no PWM when using my phones camera and no audible PWM when held to my ear with black cloth between my ear and the light. Also the Archer 1A is a little brighter than then T10 on low.
