    That's a good point, but for me, the L16 is a "bump in the dark" type of tactical light that can also serve in a BOB or vehicle. As such I prefer the cool tint. I have other neutral tint lights with more useful UIs for dedicated walking/hiking.

    I've been using NCR18650GA Protected 3500mAh 10A batts with the same output (to my eyes) as the supplied Acebeam battery.

    Still loving this light. Since it sometimes goes for a week or more between uses, the illuminated battery level feature is a huge benefit, especially with unprotected batteries. I hate having to unscrew tail caps just to check battery voltage.

    I wasn't implying that it could; simply that my S70 can change levels just as quickly with no brief pause requirement. I guess I should have used a better example but I don't own one... I also noted in another review that it's pulling 5.5A on Turbo, so the S70 is way underrated at 3000 lumens...

    My Thorfire S70 just arrived and so far I'm impressed. Very solid with xlnt finish and machining. Still light here but obviously very bright indoors. Waiting for my hi-drain 26650s to arrive so in the meantime I'm using EVVA NCR18650GA Protected 3500mAh batts. I also removed the "tactical ring"...

    You're extensive review & beamshots convinced me to buy one :thumbsup: A couple questions - is there mode memory and are high drain batts required?

    I have 2 sets of unprotected batts that I use in my EC4S: NCR18650PF button top NCR18650GA flat top w/magnets Both allow breaking the connection by only loosening the tail cap screw 3 turns - so no worries about standby drain.

    Pretty close but the P36 head is 25% larger; 50mm vs 40mm (don't know about depth) - so I'd expect less lux...

    Has anyone found a battery that doesn't fit the EC4S? I have 2x Evva 18650 3500mAh (L) 68.9 mm (D) 18.6 mm that I'd like to use.
