I hope this does not spread.

Li-Ion shipments are being stopped all over the world. I can no longer get direct-shipments from suppliers in PRC as air carriers are refusing.

    18650 bottom etched by H600

Indeed, VidPro. To my eyes, the photo shows significant surface scratching especially considering it's only a week of use. (Even though it's significant, I would only still consider it cosmetic )

    18650 bottom etched by H600

No, most springs leave marks on a battery especially if there is movement in the tube. Some manufacturers put caps on their springs or solder the end of the spring coil to mitigate the scratching and, supposedly, improve electrical contact. At the amounts of material we're talking about and the...

14500 and 123A in the cold?

That should be fine and well within the discharge temperature rangers for most Li-Ion batteries. –20°C to 60°C (–4°F to 140°F)

14500 and 123A in the cold?

If you know you'll be using your lights in cold weather keep them closer to your body or at least in inner layers of clothing. That will help mitigate the effects of exterior temperatures on your batteries. I've been using a number of 14500 powered lights, as loners for others on-site, during...

    EDC Battery Change(how often)

The data collecting isn't hard-- my usage routine affords me that much. Right you are, identifying the batteries can be troublesome and I make it a habit of renumbering any battery I test/recharge/use. At first I tried Microsoft Access to keep it all organized but found that it was not ideal. A...

    EDC Battery Change(how often)

One doesn't need an excuse to acquire cells with more capacity. :D

    EDC Battery Change(how often)

I can't be the only one who keeps a datasheet of serialized batteries. I agree with above: Simply relying on memory won't get you the best out of your batteries. 'My preciousssssss...' *strokes DMM*

RUN don't walk: Lube your Intellicharge i4 right now :)

Normally, I like using graphite but around electronics you need to exercise caution. Graphite is an electrical conductor. Not super critical when using the Intellicharge but just bear that in mind.

Friends don't let friends use WD-40 (for anything).

    Anyone had this happen before?

I guess I can admit to not being as fussy with alkaline primaries. My usual routine is a voltage check when I install Li-Ions but obviously that level of detail is prudent for safety reasons. Perhaps you should contact Duracell about this. I don't use consumer Duracells as often anymore but...

    Anyone had this happen before?

I suppose checking your batteries when you purchase/install them into your lights would now be good practice. ;)

    Charging 2x14500 in parallel (in a 6105/HXY)

Great, hopefully it won't have to come to that. (fingers crossed there's a charger under the tree)

    simple volt meter buying help

As mentioned above-- you're much better off getting a multimeter locally. It will be much more functional at the amount of money you are willing to spend. You can always check Craigslist.co.uk for anyone selling a multimeter.
