[Review] Fenix TK22 TAC - 21700-size, 2800 Lumens, Tactical Switch Flashlight

FTR, according to what I was told by Fenix, the TK22 TAC is the model that was going to be the TK28 TAC, which was essentially supposed to be the PD36 TAC with the larger reflector for better beam collimation, but I guess it took them so long to actually ship the TK28 TAC that they apparently...

Will I turn into a Maglite fan once again?

I've spent hours on the phone with my mother this weekend finally getting her user data backed up and transferred from her slow-as-molasses 2012 Samsung laptop to her new 2020 Apple MacBook Pro M1 (14x faster), and she mentioned to me that her flashlight (a Sofirn that her late husband had...

    Nitecore

I think Nitecore has some very compelling products. I'm sad they discontinued the EC & EA lights, but I can't speak to longevity, as my EC11 is only a few months old. It certainly works excellently, so far, and I have my eye on several others of their products.

    Best AA edc flashlight?

I replaced my Fenix E12v2 as my EDC with a Nitecore EC11, but if I had been able to get a Nitecore EA11, the AA/14500 version, I would have preferred that. The main advantage for me is having access to the red secondary LED with a single button press. Sadly, Nitecore discontinued both the EA11...

Single CR123A to replace Fenix P2D/PD25

You might consider the E20 v2.0. Same as the E12 v2.0, but 2xAA, and adds a 350 lumen mode. Obviously, it’s substantially longer, but it’s a great light with as simple an interface as one could ask for.

still dont know what to edc

THIS. I don’t think anyone really expects an attacker, even a not very determined one, to immediately cease acting in a threatening manner when suddenly presented with a very bright light, but that very bright light will, especially if used in the dark, blind and/or disorient someone, giving...

still dont know what to edc

I don't think people should discount the effectiveness of a very bright light in personal protection. However, I would never think that a flashlight alone is sufficient protection. That being said, the truth is, although I live in a constitutional carry state, our crime rate is so low that I...

Single CR123A to replace Fenix P2D/PD25

Any reason you are not considering the Fenix E18R? I just bought a Nitecore EC11, and I'm using a Fenix ARB-L16-700UP battery in it (3.7 V 16340). It will take 18350, 16340, and CR123A batteries, and it's nearly the perfect EDC light, I think. It just replaced the Fenix E12 v2.0 I bought...

Seeking 1xAA/14500 or 1xCR123A/16340 EDC light with red secondary

FedEx dropped off the package a while ago. I charged up the Fenix battery and popped it in. Everything works great, and I'm very pleased with my purchases. The dealer sent along a free Olight i3E EOS, for which I have no use, personally, so I will happily give it away to a friend as a holiday...

This really isn't the right space to discuss my opinion of automatic knives, so to avoid further derailment, I'll just say I made my opinion known in the forum for knives, here.

Seeking 1xAA/14500 or 1xCR123A/16340 EDC light with red secondary

You seem offended that people might have different opinions about your favorite toys. I'm not "berating" anyone, I'm saying that a $545.00 flashlight is not really what one expects to be recommended when the discussion is about sub-$60 lights. "Enthusiast" doesn't mean the same thing as...

Seeking 1xAA/14500 or 1xCR123A/16340 EDC light with red secondary

Whenever I need a dim red light in the dark to help preserve night vision. The EC11 is going to be my new EDC, replacing the Fenix E12 v2.0 I bought earlier this year. The E12 will go into my backpacking/camping kit, as for that purpose, I still prefer AA primary cells.

Seeking 1xAA/14500 or 1xCR123A/16340 EDC light with red secondary

My only other question is whether or not Keeppower's 36 mm long 3.0 V regulated RCR123A is too long to use in the EC11. It's only 1 mm longer than the batteries the EC11 is designed to use, the 18350.

Seeking 1xAA/14500 or 1xCR123A/16340 EDC light with red secondary

It's really a shame that Nitecore has discontinued the EC11 and EA11, because they are the only two lights I've been able to find that have: 1. one button direct access from off to the lowest white mode 2. one button direct access from off to the highest white mode 3. one button direct access...

Seeking 1xAA/14500 or 1xCR123A/16340 EDC light with red secondary

I decided to get a Fenix ARB-16L-700UP battery (16340, which will work in the EC11 with a battery sleeve). I didn't realise the same dealer carried those batteries, because I was looking in the wrong place on their website, but I was able to get it added to my order today with no additional...

Seeking 1xAA/14500 or 1xCR123A/16340 EDC light with red secondary

Well. I did it. I pulled the trigger on the Nitecore EC11. Should arrive next week, only it doesn't come with a battery, and I don't have any batteries for it. :D

Probably the wisest move is for me to just get a red Photon and clip it to my Fenix E12. :D

Or, alternatively, an over-priced ego booster for people with too much money and too little sense. There’s no place you can go with a Mercedes AMG that I can’t get to in my Ford F-150, and my Timex quartz watch is just as accurate at telling time as any Rolex. heck, my Timex is even more...

Seeking 1xAA/14500 or 1xCR123A/16340 EDC light with red secondary

The Aviator is $300, way out of my price range. But I honestly didn't even realise the company that makes the Photons was still in business. I haven't even seen a Photon in years. I'll check that out, thanks.
