Bought many $3 Chinese single AA zooms. What am I missing?

Because the excess length of an 18650 is a new development right? There's no way a flashlight maker could have known about it and factored it into their design. :shakehead

2000L+ lights that you don't need a cart to carry

If 1000 lumen lights aren't sufficient for you, going to 2000 lumen isn't going to help. You'd need to jump to about 6000 lumen for the light to perceptually seem twice as bright (assuming a similar beam pattern). That said, I don't really understand how 1000 lumen lights are inadequate for...

Maratac AAA copper tritium went through washer, who do I contact for warranty service

Why would the warranty cover misuse/abuse? Have you tried cleaning the contacts and letting it dry out really well? If it got soapy water in it you may want to clean it with alcohol.

    Lumens Rant (Hopefully Justifiable?)

Intensity falls off with the inverse square of distance, but in terms of the eye's response to light... Oh my: http://www.telescope-optics.net/eye_intensity_response.htm

ever looked into the light beam of a bright flashlight by accident?

We'll need to keep you all away from the Nightsword project being worked on in the Spotlights and HID Flashlights subforum. It's reported to be capable of causing instant permanent blindness.

I have found my old mag 5d pre 1990!

The 6 month shelf live was hashed over in the battery / electronics forum. Apparently the clarification is that its some sort of self discharge rating, not the actual life of the battery. However, with that current draw I'd probably steer clear of them as well.

Unless you really need the super high current, the 26650 LiMiNi 4000mAh at batteryspace is probably a better cell. It's got more power in it and is cheaper.

Sounds like you need 5 4000mAh 26650 Li-Mn batteries and a DW triple P7 kit. :candle:

Lending out your lights to neighbors.

Those lanterns are just begging to be modified. A U bin SSC P4 + Khatod optic makes them a killer lantern (before & after comparison). Upgrade Thread
