Is there an upgrade for Nichia Jupiter LED??

I just purchased a bike light that is terrific except for I discovered it uses a Nichia Jupiter. Does Nichia have an upgrade for this emitter. I believe it is only around 60-65 lumens per watt. It has a much different beam pattern than a Cree and I would like to stick with the lights optic...

    Nichia NSPWR70CSS-K1

This looks very interesting for a small aaa size light. Is the specs correct in that it has efficiency of 160L/watt? I know it cannot be driven with that much power but should give great efficiency at lower more general output levels.

How much better is the new Rebel ES than the Rebel 100?

The Rebel ES is rated at a typical voltage of 3V @ 350ma also. It sounds like a nice LED.

How much better is the new Rebel ES than the Rebel 100?

They are not both rated at 100lm/W, only the new ES is. Supposedly this is the first time a manufacturer is rating their LED's at lumens per watt. Most LED''s rate an output in lumens at the 350ma drive level and do not state the forward voltage for this rating (output is voltage time current)...

AAA powered LED - when is the next leap in tech?

This is all very preliminary and I plan on doing some more tests, but the new Peak Eiger appears to be more efficient than the Liteflux LF2X Q5 (at least at a medium/lower output setting). The LF2X has variable output but I think this may come at the cost of efficiency. The Rebel Eiger uses (I...

How much better is the new Rebel ES than the Rebel 100?

Does anyone know how much improvement the new Rebel ES is over the older Rebel 0100? The new Rebel ES announced about 2 months ago is listed as 100 lumens/watt. The older Rebel is listed as minimum 100 lumens at 350ma. From my understanding there is about a 10% improvement. Also, it appears...

AAA powered LED - when is the next leap in tech?

This will definately be a reason for me to buy a new light - even if it is the exact same model of my favorite. I love small efficient lights that provide several hours of good general output light (5-20 lumens) and great runtime at very low outputs. This LED will be a nice improvement to these...

    Nichia GS LED source

I bought some of those on clearance just for the GS LED. I think they were somewhere around $2.50. I modified two older UK 2AAA light with them and they are now useful.

New Nichia LED 4 Times Brighter

I would love one of these in a UK 2AAA light. The 2AAA side by side format is still very easy for pocket carry and has double the runtime. This format is easier to pocket carry than a single AA IMO. Can the converter work off of 2 AAA or only 1.5 volts? The converter and LED make a very...

New Nichia LED 4 Times Brighter

So does this GS put out a lot more light than the DS driven at the same level? What is the drive level of your new converter - looks good. This LED may be great in a tiny light like an ARC. I just recieved a Photon ReX using 4 of the DS LED's and the thing put out a huge amount of light...
