    But with that large head, couldn't you make it so that it could hold a single MC-E or P7 with a nice reflectored beam, would put out more 600 than lumens, would be easier and less expensive to build and so would cost less?

    Its my understanding that the eXtended Runtime or no XR had nothing to do with higher drive current, but only the efficiency of the particular emitters that Henry used. I don't believe different drivers were used. But I can't say that I truly know for sure.
