twl pretty much nailed it with his response. I would just add that the redesigned head sheds some additional weight and gives the light a slightly slimmer profile as well. For some this won't matter much, for others it might make the difference between carrying a Hound Dog or something else... -

It's measured lux multiplied by the distance (in meters) squared. Edit: I didn't notice the original measurements were in yards! 10 yards = 9.144 meters New calculation . . . 235.7 x 9.144^2 = 19,708 -
