    HDS Systems #23

Wasn't there a white plastic disc under the button that initially wasn't there on the rotaries? I remember having that discussion but not the outcome.

    Ra Clicky Tactical ID

Tricky one. As it says EDC I'm leaning toward a base model, but what were base models at that time? 120 lumens?

    HDS External Anti-reflective Coating?

I never really put too much care into cleaning my lenses (usually it's T-shirt cleaning :D) but don't use paper (per the FAQ). Mine are still scratch free, as far as I can tell.

    What LED is this?

NA = Nichia A, Nichia 219A like pc_light said, 88 CRI. There was a small batch done in 2014 I believe?

I'm afraid it's also the "I don't care" attitude from the vendor...unfortunately I suffer the same at work, although I'm far from being Henry picky. Without going into polemic, I can sometimes understand why employees go into that I don't care mode... not an excuse, but I get it.

    HDS Executive Identification

With a desoldering iron, it's quick an easy, but obviously warranty is gone 😂 Although when you can't reuse the original mpcb (hard to reuse the GD+ mpcb with a more modern led) it never feels the same...

Yes, these Golden dragon led with tiny die pack a lot of punch for such "low" lumen count! And they produce a surprisingly nice and useful beam with these HDS reflectors. Definitely a worthy light, much more than "120 lumens" could make it sound nowadays (but imagine that 15 years ago!) If...

    HDS Executive Identification

The High CRI 120 you mean? Hard to say. Not the one you showed above, that was the "entry level" $99 HDS...back before the prices increased. Oh and the 120 High CRI with the 3700°K XP-G was 129 or 139$...and the Rotary 200, well $199.

    HDS Executive Identification

Oh this isn't a High CRI, just a regular Osram, Golden dragon led. Nice tight spot :)

+1 with 120 lumens. If you follow the procedure in the HDS faqs you can get the firmware version and lumens count.

    Old School Ti clicky Question..

I know they made SS, Ti and Al bezels for these lights, but if you have an original Ti Clicky, the bezel is Ti...unless it was changed of course (but you'd loose the markings). Edit : by "these lights" I refer to the "legacy clickies".

    HDS Systems #23

Original rotary still had a head/reflector design that could accommodate the Osram GD leds, with an XP-G the led sits a little bit too low for optimal beam...which is even accentuated with Nichia leds like the 219A/B (never tried the 219C in such setup). HDS made some changes...not sure in the...

    HDS Systems #23

You can either buy a new reflector (with grooves already cut) or have yours slightly modified (to avoid shorts), and put your led on a thicker led board...Or buy a new rotary :D

    HDS Systems #23

Yes but it's not that simple, with machine calibration, the different cases of the Mondays and Fridays, material used, etc. In my own limited experience, with "limited" machines used (from another era), it was really not that easy to make perfectly circular cylinder sleeves for example that stay...

    Just Picked up SDR50

Excellent choice. 2016 may have been a Nichia 4000°K emitter? 219B 9050 maybe. The SDR50 would be a cooler tint, slightly wider beam.

I think yours are still made in the USA. Series 1 in Tucson, AZ, and maybe series 2 in California? Not really sure, history was a bit sketchy. Mine don't even have serial numbers...
