Fraz Labs Mechanical Flashlights (formerly QTC Non-Battery Crush)

You had a screw loose!! Sorry, had to say it - the nut on the negative side was only finger-tight, and the tail cap was a bit loose. Fraz tightened it all up, twisted the tailcap in enough to raise the battery up to proper height, and she will be headed back your direction by the weekend.

You mean THESE QT Golds (see photo at the bottom of this post)?! Yes, sign up for a notification because there will be a drop this week!! Welcome back, my friend!! Hope all is well on your side of the states. Send her to us and we'll get you fixed up, Turbo!! I'll send you the address on...

There are only a few emitters that play well with those optics, but y'all have found several that look incredible and really make me want to try to branch out a bit for myself - those 519a's look good, I'm a sucker for anything in the 3500-4000 range!! We are limited by our current machines...

Fraz Labs Mechanical Flashlights (formerly QTC Non-Battery Crush)

There's a spring in the bottom of the tailcap that keeps the battery in contact with the positive contact pad. This is why it's really imperative that extremely long batteries aren't used in some models, because they'll compress too much and can be damaged / crushed. Ideally, on the Lumenite II...

    State of the art, today?

This is one of the most thorough reviews of any Fraz Labs light to date, I believe. ZeroAir Reviews

You are too kind! I need to redesign it so it takes less filament, the one I printed could hold up a person! My plan is to add a few 3d prints to the site this next week (a gauge for optimal battery height for tubes with adjustable caps, a few battery sleeves, the tailcap removal tool in a...

Any rubber hose would work, we have also used some cheap, clear, plastic tubing in the past with great success! Really, anything that saves a trip to the store will probably work (even duct tape!)!

No, it's a sleeve I 3d printed out of some ABS filament!! I'll have it on the site for download before we list the Lumenite II's just in case anyone wants to use that instead of Fraz's use of o-rings (unsure of size, but I'll be back with that info as well).

So sorry, I wanted to make a few things before the photos (namely, a sleeve for the 18650, which I'll add to the site for download. I'll also add a sleeve for the 21700 in case someone wants to use something other than orings, even though they work fantastically). The LED board is 20mm, and the...

You haven't missed it, there were a few last-minute things to clean up on the Lumenite II before release. I'll bring photos over this evening for a show-and-tell, as there's several new features offered that haven't been standard for us (or anyone, like an adjustable tail cap that will allow use...

    Virtual Tour of HDS Systems

I love this post, and all that's behind it. Lovely to see all the small shops y'all help pay the bills!! However, I think it's a lot more fun if you're the hold-hands-watch-a-movie type of partner to boot - vetos get interesting.

Correct on both! I'll get all the specs tidied up on the site (sorry for the confusion on that). We don't sell spare emitters or boards at this time.

It's been a while, but I have again resurfaced to show Fraz's latest creation that I've machined - the Lumenite II. Quite possibly the cleanest model we've ever made (and all on our very own Tormach 770M!). The road to the final product was lengthy, but we are finally at another drop of...

Here are some comparison photos showing the size difference between the Tiny Nugget SL and the newest QT Nugget, as well as a bezel comparison of the QT Nugget with a 20mm optic and the newest QT featuring a 26.5mm optic (name pending at this moment). As you can see, it's significant!! We will...

We stockpiled a bunch a while back, but we have been dabbling with testing other offerings recently - there's a bunch of companies that make 'smart rubber' and 'conductive rubber', but all behave a bit differently. A neck lanyard would be neat, I have an old sterling silver ring top mechanical...

I got you, fam!! So sorry I haven't put a photo of the QT Nugget on the site, that completely slipped my mind and I slightly oversold the last drop, so we don't have a pretty one for show... 🤦‍♀️ This is an 18350 QT that I'm using as a tester for a different finish beside a Tiny Nugget SL...

I'm sure that you can see the difference in our lights and Peak's lights now that you own a Tiny Nugget, and a quick look back through this thread will let you know the massive amount of changes done in the past four years (and there's even more that never made it to the photos). Also, most if...

We are still here, though not quite as often as we once were!! Gunga, I'm so glad you like it!! We got the bead blaster in an attempt to hide the machining marks, but overall most folks seem okay with the level at which I am capable of machining on whatever machine we are using at the time. I...

We had to get 7075 for prototyping thanks to 6061 being scarce, and it wasn't too bad to machine so I think it's doable, however the anodizing is different. It's the whole "devil you know is better than the devil you don't" situation, but I think we can get the hang of it after a bit. When...
