    When is enough, enough?

I am always on the hunt for the perfect light - beam quality, reliability, reasonable size, does not get uncomfortable to hold when used on max brightness, maintains maximum brightness for extended periods, easy to carry in a pocket, long battery life....I have found that takes many different...

New Surefire E2D Defender 1000 lumens - single and dual outputs

Surefire batteries also have built in heat and fault protection according to their website so as long as you use their batteries, it seems highly unlikely you will have any issues with the batteries. The batteries have a warning not to heat above 212F, which I seriously doubt it ever gets close...

Single clicking activates the Intellibeam feature. Double clicking activates high mode only (disables intellibeam).

    New handheld for police work

Since you indicated you work in a dense urban area, I would go with the newer Surefire Fury with Intellibeam, due to beam pattern, lumen and candela). It also comes with a 18650 battery - I do recommend sticking with Surefire's 18650 as they are designed for higher current delivery then some...

    maglite tactical website

I agree on the Maglite charging cradles - very easy to use without worrying about alignment of the light. That is the main issue I have with the Streamlight cradles - you have to align the contacts.

Advice Needed: SureFire light for rural property

The Stingers use a polycarbonate, while the Strions use glass. The stinger uses a Ni-MH battery while the Strion uses Li-Ion, both are 2600mAh.

repair for stuck Surefire 6P tailcap?

I believe the OP said it works if the cap is fully tightened, so it seems it has to be related to the spring being over compressed or too short (altered).

Advice Needed: SureFire light for rural property

I find it hard to beat Surefire with regards to the balance of throw and spill and of course reliability. The G2X is really good (you just need to decide if you want single mode/high only - G2X tactical, high/low - G2X LE, low/high - G2X Pro) if you want to stick with CR123. If you want...

repair for stuck Surefire 6P tailcap?

It looks really compressed. Any chance you can stretch it out a bit with some pliers and see if that helps? It almost looks like someone altered it.

Think for a moment. What is your favorite flashlight?

Two very good lessons for sure. I have G2X's positioned all over - house, cars, laptop bag, etc., but the size makes it challenging to carry all the time. I also have fire extinguishers all over the place - probably to the point of over kill. Oh well, better safe then sorry.

repair for stuck Surefire 6P tailcap?

No shame, there is always something to learn about the different flashlights on the market. We all learn something when someone has a question or comes across an issue - it makes us think and gets the creative juices flowing.
