    Why stock up on incandescents? Aren't halogens exempt from the ban? I've seen a bunch being repackaged as incandescent replacements. Something like 42w halogen replacing a 60w incandescent, lasts twice as long, slightly brighter, less yellow light, etc.

    When Pelican states the 3854-24w puts out 600 lumens in the Big D light are they talking about bulb lumens or torch lumens? I was under the impression that along with Surefire they were one of the very few to go by the more accurate torch lumens.

    Has anyone used the Pelican 3853 bulbs designed for the NiCAD version? I think they are 7.2 volts. I imagine they would not be as bright but wouldn't they be ideal with six AA NiMH for longer runtimes?

    I already have some Halogen reflector bulbs with the IR coating so it must be something else. Wish they were easier to find. In the meantime three of my fluorescent bulbs have burned out in the past year. Not happy about that.
