    UV resistant coating for lights?

At work i applied it too my peterbilt headlamps when they werre brand new. They still look good 3 years later. Other trucks in our fleet headlamps(also peterbilt) are trashed within a year normally. But thats operator error imo. With our road conditions within 5 years polycarbonate headlamps...

    UV resistant coating for lights?

I applied it too a brand new set of oem lamps. Followed up with 2-3 applications per winter and my headlamps still looked brand new 6 years later. Im not sure whats going on in the formulation. But if i left streaks on the lense they dissapear by themselves in a couple minutes. Not something...

    Hella FF200 "Xenon"

If its a slow drifting snow you can use them too help see the road as the edges start too blend into the ditches. Sometimes they help. Sometimes they dont and yoy are better off sticking too the lowbeams. Road conditions and visibility are not black and white.

    Hella FF200 "Xenon"

Led driving lights dont make enough heat too melt snow. The HID def will. If thats a consideration. HID will also take a moment too warm up so if they arent going too be on for a longer period of time they might not be the best option.

    2009 G8 GT

I found 2 options these and these. I suspect both of these are better foglamps than the stock ones. Performance wise is there anything that should swing me one way or the other? The 90mm will maintain an oem look, while i think the projector style will look sharp with the oem projector...

https://www.jwspeaker.com/products/pre-order-only-peterbilt-pod-led-headlights-model-9600/ I have been waiting for this product for several years now. Anyone have any relevant info? Obviously JW speaker makes solid products. I am assuming these are going too be a significant upgrade over the...

    2009 G8 GT

In that case ill delete them and either turn them too cooling ducts for the brakes or put something like the hella micro DE there instead. Thanks the lowbeams were aimed with a headlamp aligner we use at work for our CVIPs. The drive home was downright scary. Both headlamps were aimed so high...

    2009 G8 GT

Hello i just purchased a new too me 2009 G8 gt. Im doing an H11 too H9 swap on the lowbeams and leaving the highbeams alone with the oem H9s. The foglamps use a bulb im not familiar with (looks like its shared with the gmc 1500s in some model years) Whats this bulbs actual description and what...

Rigid DOT selective yellow Fog Lamps

Yeah those things will have very little output left after filtering. Such a shame, they were like halfway too making a decent product.

Did they mention the CCT and CRI of the base emmiters?

Rigid DOT selective yellow Fog Lamps

I wonder what the CCT and CRI of the base emmiters are. The loss if they are starting with 6000k leds would be quite large.

Safest way to clean polycarbonate headlamp lenses?

If you go the film route i would have it changed every fall. They do yellow eventually.

Safest way to clean polycarbonate headlamp lenses?

Yeah thats why i strongly reccomend washing them as opposed too wiping them down. Your hardcoat gets damaged by rocks and other road debris as well so eventually the ammonia will get down too the polycarbonate. Thats why i strongly reccomend against windex.

Safest way to clean polycarbonate headlamp lenses?

I do NOT reccomend windex. It is what the majority of the guys in our fleet use and it is extremely hard on the lenses. While they arent houseplants, any little bit of debris, road salt, dust or otherwise is an abrasive. Wiping an abrasive all over your lenses will prematurely wear them. The...

Safest way to clean polycarbonate headlamp lenses?

Avoid handwashing them entirely when you can.. If the headlamps need cleaned odds are good the rest of the car does as well. Give it a bath. If you are driving somewhere and need too stop and clean them i have been having good success with mothers protectant. They dont seem too scratch as...

    7440 Reverse/Backup Light Upgrades

Right, but how will glare negatively affect someone who has too come by a complete stop while i back into my spot. In parking lots where you actually need them everyone is moving at such slow speeds or stopping so that one person can move i dont see how thats impairing anyones safety, actually...

    7440 Reverse/Backup Light Upgrades

I strongly feel that tinted windows and weak standards make modern reverse lamps borderline unsafe.l I would get a rigid/grote/peterson/JWSpeaker work lamp and call it a day. They are on for moments at a time, traffic in parking lots will be fine for the 10 seconds while you backup without...
