Yes and Yes. After the battery can no longer sustain maximum output, the headlamp will still run at a reduced output for quite a while without blinking or shutting off.

Hopefully Surefire’s CSRs won’t look at their website any time soon because Surefire’s website says that worn-out switches are not covered by their warranty at all and bad electronics are only covered for two years with proof of purchase.
