    Oldest LED lights you own

I think the first LED light I had, was a Fenix PD30. I remember being shocked at the brightness compared to the maglight I had been using!

    New Maglite 3rd Generation 2D/3D - 524 + 625 lumens stock!

Indeed, well worth the money. My ML300LX 2 x 'D' is quite possibly the best 'D' cell Flashlight I've owned yet, and I've tried lots of 'D' cell flashlights! Prior to this I had a three 'D' cell Mag with the replacement LED 'bulb', which of itself was a great improvement over the incandescents...

    New Maglite 3rd Generation 2D/3D - 524 + 625 lumens stock!

I think you may be right. The LX's have a 'matt' finish too.

    New Maglite 3rd Generation 2D/3D - 524 + 625 lumens stock!

I'm a bit late to the party here, but I just bought the ML300LX knurled body 2 Dcell model, and I have to say, it's impressive. I've always liked Maglites, because of the aesthetics and, just because they work, but with the advent of lots of other manufacturers, they sort of lost their way...

Are we nearing the limit of LED technology?

I imagine the batteries involved here are not going to fit in an LX2.....

Real world use of long-throwing lights

Real world use would probably include search and rescue, amongst others. I don't think the average person has much 'real' use for them, but they are fun!

Are we nearing the limit of LED technology?

I think a more pertinent question would be, are we nearing the limit of battery technology? The one thing that has always been a problem with portable lighting is the power factor, it's gotten much better over my lifetime, but is still a limiting factor.

How reliable are these LED lights? Others having troubles?

Bite the bullet and try a Surefire. Some of them are expensive, but you won't be disappointed.

How do you use your HDS Rotary flashlight?

I don't think I need a tactical, I've got a C2 and an LX2 to choose from for that eventuality, I do however fancy one of the new 250 lumen EDC executives. :0

How do you use your HDS Rotary flashlight?

I would have reservations about any multi-mode tactical light to be honest. Its just a personal thing. In my limited experience I've always found momentary on/off ideal for any 'tactical' application. It gives me a good excuse to buy another one of Henry's lights though, just to test your theory...

How do you use your HDS Rotary flashlight?

I too have the rotary turned right down and adjust as needed. The beauty of the UI is that a double click will give enough light to 'see' in the immediate area, which is what most people need, without having to play with the rotary. I do not consider the HDS to be a 'tatical' light by the way...

Fenix TA30 acting up after many years of use

Get rid of the fenix and get a surefire LX2.

How do you use your HDS Rotary flashlight?

I just use mine (EDC-R1B-200) as it left the factory. I don't think I'll ever need to get into excessive programming because of the rotary facility, which pretty much covers everything I need.

What was your first 'real' LED Flashlight? Have you still got it?!

My first real LED was a second hand Fenix PD30. I remember how blown away I was when I used it the first time in the woods at night! compared to my old 2D cell Maglite, it was quite an eye opener! I still have it, except my wife has it in here bag now. I've got an LX2 and a HDS for EDC these...

    Need a doctor fast!!

There is truth in this post...... I've only had mine for two weeks and I'm already considering letting all my other lights go and getting a 'stable' of Henry's magnificent lights.

What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

    A HDS EDC R1B rotary 200, because I didn't have one :)

    New HDS EDC-R1B- rotary 200

To be fair, we have a solar system that runs the house that is more than capable of charging batteries. I'll probably look into it soon.

    New HDS EDC-R1B- rotary 200

I will observe those sensible suggestions with the next battery, at the moment I still need to play with it. :)
