DIY bike light with some special features

Re: diy bike light with some special features Love it! Is there anything that it can't do?

    Two- or three-level driver?

GDup from the Sandwich Shoppe or maybe this driver: http://www.shiningbeam.com/servlet/the-176/3-dsh-Mode-Regulated-Circuit-Board/Detail Haven't tried either myself though.

A few idea's will they work?

No warning bells from me... the P60 shouldn't be too hot for the Lexan. Sounds good!

Built me a ROP. Thanks FiveMega

I don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but where did you get those batteries?

Need a recommendation for SF E-series LED head

Have you looked at the Aleph heads? Take a look on the Sandwich Shoppe website. They allow a lot of flexibility; you can change the reflector, the LED, and the driver. The LED and driver mount on a removeable heatsink/light engine. However, I haven't tried them myself, so I can only say that...

Built me a ROP. Thanks FiveMega

I've even had to triple-click with one setup to get it to light up. Once lit it wasn't an issue, but the initial current surge was just too high for the protection circuit. For that I would just tap the switch 3 times, only doing a full click on the third tap. It worked consistently like...

Sold/Expired Mag C/D High Temp Socket kits - they are here

Well, this sure isn't good news. I've been meaning to get more sockets, but it doesn't sound like that is going to happen at the moment. Hopefully Kiu will clear this up soon!

    0.1V KD Li-Ion 32600

I'd be interested to see what happens when it is overloaded... but I'll echo the "safety first" suggestions. A respirator would also be a good idea; I believe the gas/fumes can be very bad for your health.

    My A2 impressions (and pics!)

Mostly just pulling your leg, that's the shallowest depth of field I've seen on here in a while! I'm very amateur when it comes to photography, though I've been thinking of getting a 1.8 prime; 2.8 is what I'm currently limited to and it's a far cry from your 1.4. However, I do have a...

    My A2 impressions (and pics!)

Very nice pictures! ...but where is the bokeh? ;) There have been a number of threads recently about how awesome the A2 is... I think CPF is trying to tell me something. (And it's working! I'm feeling :broke: in anticipation.)

The SF A2: bulbs and more

Well, you could definitely do much worse than being marooned with those beauties! You're rivaling pwatcher for A2 collecting now. :faint: Keep the photos coming, that last one is nice too. Might even be computer wallpaper material... :) I'll be interested to know what LED colour(s) you...

The SF A2: bulbs and more

:ooo: .... I know I'm not the only one, but feel free to PM me if you are looking to unload some of those beautiful lights. Best not let this turn into a sales thread though. That's an awesome picture; it reminds me of some of the pictures of the Overready.com stock... so many...

    They don't make what I want . . . but they almost used to . . .

That's what I'm carrying in my pocket right now! gunga was the modder and he kept it with the stock reflector. It isn't the most powerful light, but it's very useful and has a really smooth beam.

Built me a ROP. Thanks FiveMega

Yup, the current draw is a bit over 2A I believe, and my batteries are theoretically a bit over 3Ah, so I "should" be able to get over an hour of runtime. I wouldn't count on it, but there you go... I always look at LuxLuthor's great bulb testing an re-rating information for bulb specs. It's...

    The "FETtie" - 500W Tailcap Switch for Z41 / FM26XXX

I'm going to venture a guess that it is a linear regulator based driver, with 12 chips to give the 4.2A. I can't do any better than a guess though. This idea sounds great; I wonder what FET is being used in it? 500W capability is pretty serious business.

Built me a ROP. Thanks FiveMega

Pics and/or parts list? ROPs are great. I love my 2C Mag ROP-Lo build. UCL lens, MOP reflector, 3854-Lo bulb, download's Mag C Tower, 2x25500 Li-Ions, and one of FM's tailcaps. It has a beautiful beam and should run for over an hour per charge; it also seems like a lot more light than it's...

A small victory.... just a simple Quad Cree

I've been interested in the idea of colour mixing, but the red emitter with 3 cool whites was a bit jarring. I'm a fan of the neutral emitters too, but they aren't perfect... so I figured trying a couple neutral emitters and a couple of cool emitters might be good; however, I have three...

A small victory.... just a simple Quad Cree

Awesome! I'm trying to get one last stubborn emitter off one of download's Mag-sinks and then I'll be running a quad XR-E light as well. I'm going for three neutral emitters and one "cold" white. That is a pretty good optic too! I tried it using 3 cold white and one red emitter before, but...

Sold/Expired Mag C/D High Temp Socket kits - they are here

I would be surprised if you had recieved it already. His shipping isn't the fastest and Canadian customs (in my experience) can really take their time... he does seem to be pretty consistent and reliable though, so you should see it in the next week or two. I didn't place an order this...

The SF A2: bulbs and more

You guys need to pipe down over here; now I'm really wanting an A2! 30 Euros is a steal for a new A2, you are very lucky to have found those. I think I might have to start planning for my eventual A2 purchase; it is inevitable now. :broke: ..Strion socket kit + Onion ring + amber LEDs + AW...
