    I used to have the xenon 2 cell version of those Dorcy bulbs in an old Rayovac for years until the batteries corroded the light out one day. It was pretty bright. I would try that 3 cell krypton in a 4C or 4D light.. I'll bet it will have some great brightness, provided it doesn't flash right away.

    That is why I still EDC an E2e Executive after over 20 years. It's basically a P60 in a more compact package. It does what I need it to do.

    We're most sensitive to green light. That doesn't mean green LED's are the best for navigation. There are certain LED's that mimic the color temperature of the sun, that doesn't mean they have the same overall spectral output as the sun or that of a highly driven incan.     With all the DOT regulations out there, it has always amazed me that they continue to allow blue headlights.

    I can understand that. It's just a matter of a particular person's priorities. Sometimes I'll stick the cheapest, bluest tinted, 20 year old LED light in my pocket, just because I know it works. Not ideal, but it's what was laying in the drawer and I saw it, or I wasn't worried about losing it...

    I agree that incans suck if the batteries are going dead or just plain suck. Incans need to be well driven to get the spectrum that helps me see the best. Companies that drive incans to the limit with xenon-halogen are what really got me into flashlights a long time ago. I'm not sure about the...

    You rule!!! that was really cool. I don't know how common it is anymore, but they used to make 3mm LED's. I think I experimented with it in the past and they can do the trick. I put a 5mm yuji in a 1990's Glock weapon light recently. And it works. If that can happen anything is possible.

    Sometimes it can be. Never was a huge deal to me. That's odd, they only made around 8 quadrillion MN10's for the military contracts. And Lumen's Factory is another option.

    Sounds about right.. :( Business will always protect itself and sometimes you have to worry if you do the wrong thing that might get you in an early grave. The predators are out there and always looking at everything.

    I've actually never noticed that. But then I remember about a year ago everyone at work was telling me something was light blue and I thought it was gray. I could see the blue in it, but apparently not as well as I should have. I know I'm far from color blind.

    I like em all. The older I get, the less picky I am about that. Okay, maybe I never was that picky about it. They have a crazy side you have too look out for though. :)

    I tossed a perfectly good one out many years ago. Wish I still had it mostly because of the audio recording capability. I also have old vehicles. They seem to still run fine with maintenance. Pointless consumer culture.

    I'm not entirely sure what you're saying bykfixer. Are you alluding that people are coming full circle on incans again? I'm glad I stocked up on bulbs a long time ago.
