    Body for Surefire 6P parts

Yea, I was gonna say the same thing, we have different experiences in this. I like rechargeable cells still, but they're mostly for my higher powered lights these days.

    Body for Surefire 6P parts

Yea, and I've seen them go bad. I also know you can use a battery sleeve as well. I do have well done 18650 bodies, but it takes a strong spring on the LED head or lamp assembly, and also one on the tailcap to make them reliable with other batteries. My preference over the years from what I have...

    Body for Surefire 6P parts

I honestly don't understand where you are coming from. The bored body will cause rattle, and this leads to issues like flickering and non-reliance. You never needed to have a bored out body to run a P90 or a Malkoff on rechargeables in a 6P or 9P body. In fact many people have always done it in...

    Body for Surefire 6P parts

I've never found that incredibly important, and have never had a factory body bored out for 18650's.. I'd rather have a factory example. If it's bored out, it's also less reliable with 16500's 17500's and CR123A's. The batteries rattle around in the larger tube.

    Body for Surefire 6P parts

I have 6P's for sale. The entire light. But since you don't need an entire light I would just scan ebay and other places on occasion for a 6P body. Sometimes on the clones the threads and machining is questionable, so keep that in mind of you buy something like a Solarforce clone.

Is PK now working for Jetbeam?

I noticed the similarities to old Surefires with new Jetbeam lights recently in another thread I posted a bit back.. Or maybe it was a post to another thread. But they are probably just copying retro things, but I have no idea about it. I'm sure we'll probably see more of it in the future. The...

What did you use your flashlight for today?

Seems the same, I have the garbage disposal issue again too, it's leaking. I have had to replace them every several years since I've lived here. Tonight I was looking under the sink to try and figure out why my less than two year old dishwasher is already not working and stuck on clean cycle...

What flashlight do you keep in your vehicle?

In each vehicle I have a Lux Pro 2AA LP290V2 (got some for sale at Lowes for about $4 each) with 2 Lithium Energizers and a Surefire G2 (nitrolon and an incan beam is way better for winter, nitrolon doesn't freeze your hands like aluminum, and incan melts the snow off the lense, but the tint is...

ACE isn't the place, to shop for MAGLITES.

I know. But it's still funny to see $1 multi LED lights locked in a display case right next to the Coast, Nebo and Energizer lights which ain't that great to begin with either.

ACE isn't the place, to shop for MAGLITES.

That's all any place has nowadays. All the same old junk. Even at the sporting goods stores. Ironically enough, a lot of this garbage is actually locked behind display cases. Even at walmart. :ROFLMAO:

    Purple street light tear down.

They tried those here many years ago with the traffic lights. Then after they were all put in they didn't melt the snow off. No more LEDs.

Pop quiz: What part of this Jetbeam flashlight is NOT a direct knock off of a old Surefire design?

I found it on a facebook post of what I believe is a Jetbeam rep in China. I don't think we're allowed to post those links here, so PM if you want a link to it.

Pop quiz: What part of this Jetbeam flashlight is NOT a direct knock off of a old Surefire design?

Apparently this is the new Jetbeam M30, though I can't find much reference of it online yet.

My power outage/ balck out kit

I have my blackout lights scattered all over, this thread makes me think I need to consolidate things into one kit so that it's not so disorganized.

Taking apart a recalcitrant 3 D cell Maglite

After watching a lot of this guy's videos over the years, I'm pretty much of the opinion that ANYTHING can be restored with the right tools, knowledge, and skills. :D

Scalloped tailcap for a Surefire needed

No, I think you are correct. Now that I look at the picture again, it appears to have the thicker cerakote of the tan/FDE finish, along with the lighter color. And you're right, I don't know of any type III nat Z68's, aside from what Lumen's Factory offers. Not sure what I was thinking there.

Taking apart a recalcitrant 3 D cell Maglite

Strap wrench would be my choice. But there might not be enough surface area on that small tailcap. Or some leather gloves is most likely what I would use. You could try freezing the light, and then running boiling water on the body as well to expand it. Might make it easier to get the tailcap...

Scalloped tailcap for a Surefire needed

Maybe it's just the lighting, but that doesn't look like the Tan/FDE version, it looks like type III nat to me. The tan/fde version is normally much lighter in color.

Scalloped tailcap for a Surefire needed

Lumens Factory makes good stuff. I actually prefer the fully round bottoms to the crenulated, but the OEM crenulated switches seem a lot harder to find these days.

When was the last time you actually needed to use a flash light for 7 or more hours

Any time I worked security going through buildings, the winters here get long.
