[Review] Convoy C8+ 'Ultra Muggle' - 125lm single mode

Thanks! Yes, its very similar to the M61L w/ 18650 in performance. The M61L is a bit brighter, but the C8 has a much larger reflector, so it ends up having a further effective range.

[Review] Convoy C8+ 'Ultra Muggle' - 125lm single mode

You can order them directly from Simon at Convoy on Aliexpress. Send him a link to my Imgur review, and request the same light - A 1x7135, set to 100% 350mah only. He's great to deal with.

[Review] Convoy C8+ 'Ultra Muggle' - 125lm single mode

Here's a review I did of a custom Convoy C8+ designed as simple but effective flashlight for giving to friends and family: https://imgur.com/gallery/N3W3fEu TL;DR: Using a 1x7135 driver, the light puts out ~125lm for 9.5hrs with full output, followed by another 2 hours of steadily decreasing...

The Official Malkoff M61N NEUTRAL L-L-L-L Group Buy!

All of the Malkoff drop ins show a different output and runtime based on cell type. For example, the M61LL, which I have, is 100lm x 9hrs using CR123's, but 65lm x 23hrs using 18650's: M61LL CR123: M61LL 18650...

The Official Malkoff M61N NEUTRAL L-L-L-L Group Buy!

That's a good runtime. The group buy mentions ~20lm, but I assume that's with CR123's? Any idea of what the lumens would be with the lower voltage 18650?

What is the expected output and runtime of the L4 using 18650's?

Belt Loop Lamp - Improvised hands free method of using flashlight

Another option is a dedicated horizontal light holster. Mounted at the hip, this will work exactly like the belt loop lamp, but in a more secure, purpose built setup. https://www.kytexgear.com/products-page/surefire-carriers/horizontal-surefire-carrier/ Not really suitable for EDC, but would...

Belt Loop Lamp - Improvised hands free method of using flashlight

Playing around with the idea some more, another big advantage the 'belt loop lamp' offers over a headlamp is that its not accidentally blinding when working in a group. When using a headlamp with a group, when you turn your head to look at someone, the headlamp ends up shining in their face and...

I'm hoping we see a similar thrower design for the MD2 and Super Houndog.

    E2XT Heads

I'm impressed with the throw from this light. I really hope we see a MD2 version designed for 18650's.

    Worlds greatest cop light

I'd say Armytek's Barracuda would make a superb car /search light; excellent throw, with perfect 'tactical/utility' interface. Head tight = Turbo, Head loose = L-M-H interface with memory. Their Doberman has the same interface, and is the same size as a P60/ Malkoff MD2, but with a much larger...

Malkoff Runtime Graphs - CR123/Alkaline Comparo

No, the full explanation was great, thank you. I was especially intrigued that a 'higher low' might be more efficient. So perhaps a 20 lumen 'low' w/ 18650 vs the current 5lm may still have a very good runtime. Is there any indication of whether 'low' of any level is regulated in the same way...

MD2 M61LL with Prometheus blue annodized pocket clip. The blue is awesome, a nice dark 'denim' blue that blends in great with jeans. https://darksucks.com/collections/titanium-pocket-clips-1/products/surefire-titanium-clip

SureFire 2211 X wrist light initial impressions

I've been using a Photon 'Watch Flashlight' for 4-5 years now, far and away my most used flashlight, and would the the one I'd choose if I could only have 1 light.

Malkoff Runtime Graphs - CR123/Alkaline Comparo

Awesome, thank you. I guess my next question is about how the Hi/Lo mode works. Would it be possible to have a 'Hi/Medium' ring? So say, M61/425lm HI ; M61LL/100lm 'Medium'. Would the Medium 100lm mode have the same runtime as the M61LL module, or is there something about the resistor in the...

Malkoff Runtime Graphs - CR123/Alkaline Comparo

Ah, thank you. That is good to know. Kind of another question comes to mind as well - does the introduction of the Hi/Lo ring at all change the previous runtimes / regulation of the M61/M61L/M61LL modules when on 'Hi'?

    MD2 M61T - Osram Flat White thrower?

Currently, it seems like the Osram Flat White is the go-to 'Thrower' LED, capable of producing an extremely tight, focused beam for maximum candela per lumen. As such, it seems like it would be a fantastic option for a future M61T. The Modlite OKW is basically the same size as the MD2 (18650...

Belt Loop Lamp - Improvised hands free method of using flashlight

https://i.ibb.co/1nPN3Cj/Hands-Free-Belt-Loop-Light.jpg Last night I was pondering how to use my standard EDC flashlight as an improvised headlamp. This lead me to this idea, which I'd call a 'Belt Loop Lamp.' Just stick your EDC flashlight through the belt loop on your hip, with the pocket...

Malkoff Runtime Graphs - CR123/Alkaline Comparo

Thank you so much. If it's drawing 18mah from a 3500mah 18650, that would be 194 hours! Do we know if the 'Low' on the High/Low rings provide a regulated output? Ie is it a conistent 5 lumens for x hours? And actually, is there confirmation on 'Low' being 5 lumens with an 18650? Malkoff...
