Messed up my mag switch :(

For $10 I can get the mag switch and seal shipped. Hmm, I can about buy a 2D mag from ebay for that, and they sell for what, $15 in the store. Grr. I don't even need the whole switch assembly. Oh well, guess I'll just bite the bullet and go ahead and buy a new one or maybe ebay.

Messed up my mag switch :(

I've never seen a mag part for sale by itself before. I have never heard of a mag vendor either, at least not a brick and mortar store. I think I'm probably screwed on the deal. Even people who mod the mag keep the switch assembly.

Messed up my mag switch :(

Grr, I had taken the switch out of my mag 2D. Well, it came apart, and I was trying to get the thin metal strip back in the stem of the switch assembly. Well, it broke. Grr. I was going to play with a new mod too! I was going to have around 500 lumens from it, but now I cannot since I have no...

    Kroll G2 adapter

Hey litho, I sure am at school and I got those bulbs. Now if only I can remember to bring my light out so I can try them. DOH! Regarding the garrity light, I don't mind a little bit of work, but the people I am doing this for would, and I want it to be as easy to do as possible. I vaguely...

Arc AAA clip? Who uses it?

I keep mine on. The light stays on my keychain, so the clip doesn't get in the way. I rarely use the clip, but it is very handy. When I know I'm going to be in the attic for a while I'll take a visor so I can clip the light on.

    Kroll G2 adapter

Hey Don, still have any of these? I still have the one I bought from you, but I am in need of a few more (4 maybe). One for me, some for friends. IF you don't have any and have no plans to make more, could I get the dimensions from you? I can always measure it myself, so if not it isn't a big...

Cell Phone Antenna Booster - Good or Bogus?

My dad had one of those external antennaes too. He noticed no real difference. Then he took it apart and found something wasn't soldered, so he soldered it, then he claimed he could definately tell a difference. YMMV

    interested in Gmail ?

On the other hand, Pop Goes the Gmail (PGTGM) is working great now! I did have to install that .net framework or whatever, but the 22 megs didn't take long to download on my 2 or 3 megabit cable modem (though I was only getting 115 kilobytes per second download instead of 200+) I just chose a...

    interested in Gmail ?

Can anybody get http://jaybe.org/screens.htm that product to install? It sounds great, it would be nice to access my gmail with outlook, now that I found out you can leave a copy of the message on the server (though I'd still prefer it acted like imap and would mark it as read on the server too...

    interested in Gmail ?

[ QUOTE ] Fitz said: Nothing there yet- I was looking in the inbox too. At least I know where to look now! Thanks Tater Rocket. Enjoying this weather? Not bad for late June! I'm sure we'll pay for it later. [/ QUOTE ] Heck yeah! This morning my preacher remarked "for all you visitors from...

    interested in Gmail ?

I'm not sure how long it takes, but you eventually get a link under the search buttons that says "invite a friend to join gmail". I had been looking in my inbox, so I am not sure how long I had the invite.

    interested in Gmail ?

I too have a couple invites for CPF. Send me a PM with your email address. I'd give more, but I am sending one to myself (so I can have on with my real name for people I know, and one with my screenname for people I don't), and at least one is going to go to a friend.

Possible mr16 socket that will fit in a mag

You don't even need good nimh AA's. I find my 1600 mah nexcells run a 20 watt fine, and I imagine will run a 35 watt fine too. I am WORKING on a 12AAto3D adapter, but I have a problem: No springs to hold the batteries in place. I might try to figure out a way to make a 4AA to D adapter. Right...

Possible mr16 socket that will fit in a mag

Unfortunately, I don't have any lamps at the moment, and don't want to buy a test lamp just to turn and buy a higher efficiency one in a couple weeks. That'd be a waste of $5. I cannot afford to waste $5. I REALLY need to order the springs for my battery holder. I just don't want to pay the $5...

Possible mr16 socket that will fit in a mag

It wasn't that I didn't want to touch the post, it was that my old sockets wouldn't even fit in the head! I went to a lighting store today. They had no high efficiency mr16 bulbs, but they did have this socket. Tiny little thing, under 3/4" diameter. I'll have to make a pr adapter for this...

Central USA CPF Gathering, Labor day weekend Tulsa

Re: “Possible Central USA CPF Gathering” Dang, I was hoping that it would be somewhere here in the center of the country...aka Missouri. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to drive to oklahoma. About the furthest I'd be able to drive is branson, and even that is iffy. I don't have the money for...

Possible mr16 socket that will fit in a mag

What takes work? The ones I had were rectangular and perhaps an inch and a half long. They didn't fit in at all. However, a 5/8" circle seems like it'd fit in fairly well.

Possible mr16 socket that will fit in a mag

https://secure.tcinternet.net/buylighting/shoppingcart/mr16_round_socket.html Anybody use these? They are only 5/8" diameter, which would fit in a mag head. The other sockets I had found for cheap were too long to fit in, but these should be great for those of us who want 1000 lumens in a 2D...

Class 3: SureFire G2 gets a new life

How did you solder to the springs? When I tried soldering to the stock springs, I failed miserably. I could not get any solder to stick for the life of me. I just figured it'd have to be tack welded in place. What I did instead was to just put a wire around the spring and twist it tight ;-)...
