    P60 26650 Host Options?

Hey everyone, I've been looking at building up a 26650 host for P60-style drop-ins and the Striven and the old TnC 26650 bodies are viable options. Short of a flatpack, side-by-side 1S2P 18650 body, the 26650 form factor is what I need for the power I want. Am I missing any other viable host...

Talk me out of the OLight SR91, please

Thank you for posting those vids. I gotta say, the SR91 looks to do pretty well in the range of long I work. Living where I am, we haven't got a lot of 400-500+ yard runs but being able to spot a couple hundred feet out is fine. If the D cells can be made into a pack, I can charge the whole...

Talk me out of the OLight SR91, please

Hardcore, baby. Hardcore. The concern I had about the CCT. Reports are that they run around 6000K. Is the LED moddable? Has anyone ever swapped the stocker for a neutral unit? Wilkey

Talk me out of the OLight SR91, please

That is an impressive looking light. I think the thing I like about the SR91 is that it uses LiIon and you can have to worry less about self-discharge. And pulling an charging 4 cells is less convenient. Wilkey P:3500

Talk me out of the OLight SR91, please

Thanks, Cummins. I did go through that thread and I'm not sure the extreme nature of an aspheric beam profile is for me. Having grown up on incans, I like a gentler transition between hot and spill. Some intense throwers there for sure, though. Wilkey

Talk me out of the OLight SR91, please

Hi guys, For years now, I've been using a MagCharger85 and a modified 100W Vector spot for my "long" lights around the property. They are both champs and I'd never give them up, but I admit that LEDs are highly practical things. So, I'm thinking about replacing one of the above lights with an...

Why warm tint is more preferred in flashlight, scientific explanation

Kinnza, Thank you for that lucid explanation of the Kruithof phenomenon. It is commonly misbelieved that preference and opinion are the same thing. They are not. It is possible to formulate a theory that describes how things work from empirical investigations of preference. This is what the...

Which is the sleekest 6P-type body, semi or full custom

Here's a composite of the grips I employ with the extended Z2. Roughly in order of frequency of use, most often at the top, least often at the bottom. Wilkey

Which is the sleekest 6P-type body, semi or full custom

Matte00, That's a combo I'd be happy with, the Nailbender I mean. I'll post a pic of my extended Z2 tonight. Wilkey PS. Whereabouts in Sweden are you? I work for Tobii out of Stockholm and visit once or twice a year.

:) And I'm becoming one of them. I really like the feel and balance of the body. But as an engineer, some things just don't escape notice. I'll see if I can dig up my digital calipers tonight and take a measurement. Perhaps my impression was different from yours possibly because: 1. I use an...

Which is the sleekest 6P-type body, semi or full custom

Very cool, matte00. I've been super-pleased with my Z2. In fact, I've stumbled on the perfect (for me) configuration. Simply adding an A19 extender changes the balance and provides a significant enhancement in handling for a more traditional flashlight hold, as opposed to a cigar or tactical...

Worst Punishment of your LED Flashlights

Dropped an SF L4 in the snow. Neighbor with gas powered snow blower sucks it in, chews it up, and spits it into a snowbank where it sits for a couple of weeks until the snow melts. Fired right up. Wilkey PS. Here's the thread.

Which light engine/dropin for high power flashlight? (Malkoff, Nailbender, Torchlab)

I've owned variants of all of those and while my experience is relatively shallow compared to the duty users on this site, I'd have to agree with tx101: If ultimate reliability in terms of physical stress is your performance indicator, Malkoff. Wilkey

Ahh, Thanks for the comment. It's always helpful to hear a different perspective. The only time I pocket-carry is when I'm wearing sweats and since my P/Z are crenelated, I've even learned to deal with the occasional poke. I suppose every little bit could make a difference. Wilkey

Which is the sleekest 6P-type body, semi or full custom

What is it specifically that makes the 6P uncomfortable in your pocket? The length? Diameter? Squared edges? The weight? The corners of the hex? Just wondering because a clear definition of the operational constraints would support a specific design solution. I apologize if I'm coming across as...
