Length can be an issue with 18350’s so unprotected cells would be best. You may have to get the md body extension kit which helps.- Megalamuffin

MD3 with hi/low is the best
Here you have a light with so many drop in options and so many battery options it’ll make your head spin. Is there another light that you can carry daily in your pocket that is as versatile? What are your favorite drop ins?
Hearing that makes it tempting to buy the neutral. Favorite is probably m91bw. The brightness is impressive at full voltage and still really good with one li-ion. M91/md3 is pretty awesome, and with a hi/low ring you’ve got all you need. Plus you can carry it in your pocket no problem unlike a wildcat.- Megalamuffin

I asked Gene about low runtime with the md3/m91bw and he said to expect at least 24 hours with either 18500’s or 123’s. That’s good to know, seems like plenty. I finally got around to a high runtime test with the 2300 mah 18500’s and was pleased with the result. 1hr and 20 minutes at 950 lumens...- Megalamuffin

The m91bw actually does alright on two 18350’s, I got 38 minutes with them on high before the shut off. I’ve got an md3 body on the way and can’t wait to pop the m91bw in there with two 2300 mah 18500’s. :clap:- Megalamuffin

Thank you caelyx and muichimon, much appreciated. The 219b looks really good. My m61n looks great on its own but loses by just a little next to a 219b 4500k. I was thinking of buying an m361n but the 219b version may be a good choice instead.- Megalamuffin

Malkoff goodies just arrived. MD2 with the grip ring extender works nicely. I had to forego the z26 with the grip ring and a pocket clip on there, as it pushed the tailcap too far away from the water sealing o ring. I could barely get the keeppower 1200 mah ones in my md2. It compressed a bit much for comfort but no damage is apparent to the cells after a runtime test. I have a super thick LF clip and a z26 lanyard ring on the md2 so that probably helped, with the md body extender I’m hoping it will give...- Megalamuffin
