    M43vn - Best of 2015?

You just stated it again. There is no need to clutter Vinh's sales thread with this as it is off topic; I offered information to help clarify charging characteristics for the high-drain cells required by the light being sold in this thread. No debate was intended. I apologize for the off-topic...

    Noctigon Meteor M43

If I understand correctly, this light uses a boost driver. What that means is that tailcap (draw currents) current will be higher than what the emitters actually "see". So draw current is highly dependant on the battery's ability to maintain voltage under load. I have not read the manual for...

    M43vn - Best of 2015?

Just because they can handle more current does not make 350ma too low of a current; rather, high discharge cells can handle a higher charge current if need be. so long as the charge cycle follows a cc/cv profile and does not trickle charge thereafter, the cells will be just fine. @cagenuts: no...

    M43vn - Best of 2015?

Just another random thing; I don't use my i4 v2 for charging unprotected cells. It charges unprotected cells to 4.25v, which is a little high for my liking. Protected cells come off at 4.21v though. If you have a multimeter, it may be worthwhile to measure cell voltage when they come off your...

    M43vn - Best of 2015?

The i4 only has two (700mah) channels for 4 slots. So when you have all 4 slots in use, each battery only sees 350ma of current. With 3000mah cells, you're looking at 10 hours of charge time. I believe slots one and three are channel one, two and four are channel two.

Sold/Expired Non-battery-crush QTC flashlights (2nd run and combo package now available)

Re: ON SALE! Fraz Labs QTC flashlights (3rd run now available version 1.1) I would be really interested in an 2x 18350 form factor with a tir based mtg2.

    single AAA incandescent mini flashlights

Wow that has potential to be an amazing bulb for this application! This would get me carrying a single cell light to be sure. Having said that, I hate to be a nay-sayer, but I'm curious why the bulb looks to be in Maglite blister packaging without any Maglite branding or whatnot on the package...

Ok... Totally confused. Mag11, Mag85, or ROP? C or D cell tubes? Run times? Help!!!

If you want really warm light with minimum mod work, grab a set of pelican 3853 bulbs (7.2 volts) and a couple of imr 26650 or 32650 batteries. You'll need a metal reflector too, and also likely a spring shortening mod.

Just ordered some IMREN IMR 32650 cells for my 2D Maglite!!!!!!!

Any word on these batteries? What will you be using to charge them?

    Sold/Expired 8AA to 2D adapter WTB

I have one of these adapters in my spare parts box. I bought it used, but it has been unused by me since I purchased it. It functions perfectly as far as I know; since I don't have a quad bored host all I did was load up the batteries and test the pack voltage (which read fine). Let me know if...

Do you mean the g4 sunlight module? Or the d26 1.5mm module?

Mag 2d, 2x26650, and borofloat. Any suggestions???

If you're confident 5 cell bulbs will continue to pop, I'd give the 6 cell bulb a go. Keep in mind it will only be about 150 lumens though. You could also try the streamlight tl-3 bulb. It should be brighter, it pulls about 1.3 amps.

Mag 2d, 2x26650, and borofloat. Any suggestions???

Really? I've run mine from Samsung 20r as well as Sony 26650vt and its been fine. I mean bulb life is certainly less than running the six cell bulb instead, but I've never had one instaflash. I'm sorry!

    SolarForce shipping issues??

I've bought quite a bit of product from them and average travel time is 5 weeks to west coast usa.

Mag 2d, 2x26650, and borofloat. Any suggestions???

Daniel, I'm glad we've got your wheels turning! I think Dark Laser's got a good product linked for you, so long as you don't expect to exceed a 3 amp output. That precludes you from using the 3854 hi bulb, but would allow you to use the standard Maglite bulbs which draw around an amp apiece...

    battery efficiency, increased runtime mod?

Sorry, I think I gave the impression that I know little about direct drive led set ups. I know enough about them not to totally destroy whatever light source I'm powering :) my questions about introducing resistance were one-sided. I was looking at it from the efficiency standpoint, and not...

    battery efficiency, increased runtime mod?

Thanks for your input! I love friendly flashlight discussions; it's how those of us less technically-minded folk learn :) So i guess I have a couple questions now. Why introduce a limiting resistor into a direct drive setup if the light source can survive the voltage/current? Like I said, it...

    battery efficiency, increased runtime mod?

I'll be first to say I have a lot to learn in this area :) so please explain to me when I'm wrong! If something I say is wrong, it's because I don't realize it ;) More_vampires (nice handle by the way) when you add a limiting resistor to the circuit, don't you create a source of waste heat...
