It is common for mfyers and affiliated dealers to let go of older product stock during Black Friday or other special periods (eg. Thanksgiving weekend) before introducing (and deploying) newer ones. It's a common sales tactic which many customers do see through.

As for the VP4+ successor model, product feedback and suggestions have already been discussed on other threads I believe. So I'm not going to repeat myself here.
