In the continual quest to find the perfect 3v AA sized batery/batteries, I stumbled upon 1/2 AA sized NiMH. I believe I saw at least one other CPF member using them, but I havn't read any comments.

I'm thinking something like: http://www.powerstoredirect.co.uk/erol.html#2181x0&&

Does anyone have any experience with these size NiMH, or does anyone know how one might charge them? Since they are 1.2V, I would imagine I could just put them in my regular NiMH charger with a spacer, but I'm not sure. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Any help would be appreciated. These particular ones seem to have tabs; is there anywhere else I could get tabless equivalents?

I'm thinking I will either use this or a 14500 Li-Ion, but I'm considering these NiMH because their voltage is within the 'acceptable' range of most sandwiches (thus extending emitter life?).

Your link doesn't work.

I bought 4 of those 400mAh cells, and had no problem at allcharging them in a AA smart charger-with spacers. I made the spacers out of tightly wrapped and rolled aluminum broiling foil. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Thats wierd, the link works for me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Thanks though, vcal, for the confirmation! I'm glad to know that they will work in a regular smart charger, and that I don't have to go buy another charger especially for them. The ones I am looking at are 550mAh, but I'm not sure what difference this would make? Do you happen to remember where you got yours?

Thanks again.
