Hello all... I stupidly sold my Arcmania Maxlite Extreme and currently have no AA tactical light that I can use as a backup. I have plenty of lights that are CR123 based...but, I would love to get another single AA light with that quality and that solid of a forward clicky.

Any thoughts?

I like both of those...what do you guys think of the build quality of those lights?

Regarding the Nitecore Defender Infifnity...there are two listed... one with a golden dragon...any comments on the difference between the two...

Is the Regalight UI easy to figure out?

Thanks

Check this thread for info on the Regalight. The UI seems to have problems.

Check here to see the difference between the Golden Dragon and Cree XR-E lights(Nitecore D10 and EX10, different light but should be a good reference)

How about the Jetbeam Jet I Pro IBS? 3 modes, individually programable, never have to see the strobe or SOS if you dont want to

For a tactical backup, you need a user interface which allows quick momentary "flashing" of the light. You need it. No mode changing by clicking the switch. That's the rule for tactical lights. Counting clicks is impossible when adrenaline is pumping trough your veins. There are two 1AA lights that I know of that have this user interface: the Nitecore Defender Infinity and the Eagletac P10A2. The Nitecore Defender Infinity has a max mode, a user-adjustable mode and a strobe, the Eagletac only has a max and a general use mode (can't call 45 lumens low). The Eagletac is a lot cheaper but at least as sturdy and it comes with a pocket clip, lanyard and holster. It may also have better throw, but I don't know for sure.

Edit: When I look at the Arcmania I think you will like the more sturdy feel of the Eagletac. The NDI is very sturdy but it feels very light. I think the stainless steel head of the Eagletac would give it a heftier feel.

You might like the Nitecore D10. It is very easy to put into momentary mode and once on its highest setting and is difficult to drop out of high by accident.
