For a tactical backup, you need a user interface which allows quick momentary "flashing" of the light. You need it. No mode changing by clicking the switch. That's the rule for tactical lights. Counting clicks is impossible when adrenaline is pumping trough your veins. There are two 1AA lights that I know of that have this user interface: the Nitecore Defender Infinity and the Eagletac P10A2. The Nitecore Defender Infinity has a max mode, a user-adjustable mode and a strobe, the Eagletac only has a max and a general use mode (can't call 45 lumens low). The Eagletac is a lot cheaper but at least as sturdy and it comes with a pocket clip, lanyard and holster. It may also have better throw, but I don't know for sure.
Edit: When I look at the Arcmania I think you will like the more sturdy feel of the Eagletac. The NDI is very sturdy but it feels very light. I think the stainless steel head of the Eagletac would give it a heftier feel.
