12\'000mcd white 5mm LED

I've got an email information from Jumi (member 2032) that there is a 12'000 mcd white LED available: Datasheet

Who knows more about this LED? Who is the manufacturer?

Btw, Jumi found these LEDs in a shop (not really close to his domicile) in Finland. And they didn't tell him who the manufacturer is.

I think the Manufacturer is a company called Valkoinen. Any body heard of them? mike

Few months ago I bought their predecessor which was 8400mcd, it has bluish white color, blue cross and sircle around. Girl behind the desk told me that they would get a newer ones in a few weeks and so it looks like. The shop is 82 miles in a wrong direction, so I am not able to pick any in weeks.

Mike: Valkoinen means white, so it's not the manufacturer

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Jack, as far as I know this is only the shop where Jumi found these LEDs but it's not the manufacturer. Unfortunatly two of the few words in Finish I know are 'kioski' and 'hissi' and they both don't help me to understand what they write on this site ...

You'll be first one to get a sample as soon as I'm able to get those. Ok, they do sell by mail but they charge a minimum 8€ per order. That's more than shipment cost from Matt -> Rene -> Me.

Ok, I called to them to ask how they perform and who is the manufacturer.
First she said that the newer ones "spreads" little different. Then I talked to her boss who said that there is not significant different. He did know the manufacturer but refused to tell, only told that they are not Nichias, maby made by them but not Nichias. In Finland is no importer for Nichias, he said. Said also that most Finnish manufactures who uses leds use these ones.

He he, Juha, I know there are some Finnish people speaking Swedish as their mother language .... you see, I know a little about Finland (but unfortunatly only a very little). I've been three times in Helsinki as many years ago I worked in the export department of a Swiss electronic manufacturer and I was responsible for the sales in Finland (our exclusive distributor then was Suomen Sähkötar??? OY in Helsinki)

mcd is not an universal standard yet, most of LED manufacturers have their own rating standard. 12000mcd may means 5000mcd to nichia.

This is the case I have almost everyday in LED inquiry. Do not trust the mcd rating, sometime the 500mcd white actually means 2000mcd to other manufacuturer's part.

I got it!

But since I only have those 8400mcd and haven't seen those 12cd, I really can't say are they brighter. But I can say this, everyone of those 8400 were brighter than the brightest of those(40)Nichias that I got from Matt. So maby these are some high rank (rank S) Nichias, but there is no way I could find it out.
But I sure hope that they really are what they tell, because I really don't want to waist my moneys when I get those.
I think that I can drive there after one week from now. I really want to know
